Job Summary
Seeking an experienced Tooling Engineer with 8+ years of experience in medical device manufacturing and injection mold tooling. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in Hot Runner injection molding systems, mold design, tooling development, mold qualification (FIR/FRP), validation, and troubleshooting. Proficiency in PTC Creo (Pro/E) with Windchill is required, along with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize tooling performance and support production.  

Job Title:Molding Tooling Engineer
Location:Libertyville, IL

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and optimize injection molds and tooling.
  • Approve mold designs and qualify molds using FIR/FRP.
  • Perform DFM reviews and validate mold designs.
  • Troubleshoot tooling and molding issues and drive improvements.
  • Work closely with production and design teams to ensure quality and manufacturing readiness.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in Injection Mold Tooling.
  • Mandatory experience in Medical Device/Product manufacturing.
  • Strong expertise in Injection Molding Machines, especially Hot Runner Systems.
  • Hands-on experience in mold design, tooling development, mold qualification, validation, and troubleshooting.
  • Proficiency in PTC Creo (Pro/E) with Windchill.
  • Good communication skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with SolidWorks.
  • Basic Injection Molding Machine operating knowledge.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office.
