Intern Forensic Science Technician Jobs (NOW HIRING)

Kind of Work Professional technical and administrative work assisting the Combined DNA Index System (CODIS) Administrator in overseeing the CODIS database within the DNA unit. Work includes processing DNA samples in the laboratory, ensuring the CODIS database functions effectively, and verifying that DNA evidence is accurately processed for use in criminal investigations; and related work as required. Minimum Qualifications 1.

A Bachelor's Degree* from an accredited college or university with a major in Forensic Science, Chemistry, Biology, or a closely related scientific field. 2. Twelve (12) semester hours of college course work that must have included all of the following areas: biochemistry, genetics, molecular biology and either: statistics or population genetics.

OFFICIAL COLLEGE TRANSCRIPT MUST BE PRESENTED TO THE NEW ORLEANS CIVIL SERVICE DEPARTMENT WITHIN TWO (2) WEEKS OF APPLICATION. 3. Four (4) years of full-time professional forensic experience as a qualified DNA Analyst.

NOTE: A Master's Degree in Forensic Science, Chemistry, Biology, or a closely related field may be substituted for (1) year of professional experience; a PH.D in Forensic Science, Chemistry, Biology, or a closely related field may be substituted for two (2) years of professional experience.
