Job description

Summary
This position conducts authorizes, schedules, regulates and controls flights according to government and company regulations to expedite the flight operations schedule.
Essential Functions
• Ensure the information in the scheduling software Talon is accurate and complete
• Teaches one or more assigned classes that perform ground instructor duties authorized by the Federal Aviation Regulations in accordance with the approved Training Course Outline
• Generate and evaluate reports as necessary to ensure that crews are legal and qualified for flight assignments
• Carry out plans for irregular operations, such as major cancellations, SWAP events and/or delays as planned by the Crew Coordinator
• Coordinate with Dispatch, and Maintenance to resolve operational and instructor/student-related issues
• Guide and direct instructors and students in scheduling flight operations and utilization of aircraft
• Schedule, plan, and control aircraft report all schedule changes, and student/instructor "no shows" daily
• Coordinate with instructors to ensure students are scheduled for flights
• Coordinate with Director of Maintenance on requirements and estimated time in commission (ETIC)
• Prepare daily reports of delays, and cancellations, and list reasons
• Complete reports as required
• Maintain professional manner and enforce the Student Code of Conduct rules while a positive, customer-friendly attitude
• Work a flexible schedule when required due to business necessity
• Ensure compliance with all Spartan policies and procedures related to flight and dispatch operations
Knowledge / Skills
• Scheduling and or dispatch knowledge
• Demonstrates good judgment and confidentiality
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with a strong emphasis on customer service
• Excellent time management, follow-through and organizational skills
• Strong communication and ability to build relationships with all levels of management and pilots
• Strategic and forward-thinker
• Ability to handle multiple priorities with a high degree of accuracy
• Intermediate to advanced computer skills in Word, Excel and Outlook
• Strong knowledge of scheduling and flight software (Talon or FlightPro)
• Ability to handle highly confidential information
Education and Work Experience
• High School diploma or GED required
• Associate degree preferred
• Two (2) years of scheduling experience preferred

Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit for prolonged periods of time; climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. This position requires frequent use of computers, monitors, telephones, headsets, and other office equipment. The employee must frequently lift and/or balance up to ten pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to fifty pounds. This position may also require flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours.
