NBC Connecticut Internships provide students with real-world experience and exposure to working in the television news industry. NBC Connecticut internships are paid and do not require course credit. 

If you are a team player who is looking to learn how to work with community leaders and how to organize/participate in different community events, this is the internship for you.  We are looking for an individual who is a motivated self-starter, with strong inner drive. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Work alongside CT LIVE producer to schedule interviews with local businesses and community leaders 

  • Pitch content ideas for segments 

  • Shoot video while attending on-location shoots  

  • Edit segments for broadcast 

  • Post to CT LIVE's social accounts 

Qualifications
  • Experience with MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook preferred 

  • Proficient in using social media platforms such as: Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok 

  • Prior video editing experience required 

Eligibility Requirements: 

  • Must be actively enrolled in a degree-granting program at an accredited institution during the length of the program and be able to provide documentation to confirm your degree progress 

  • Current class standing of junior or above (30 credits) 

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship by NBCUniversal 

  • IN-PERSONMust be willing to work at the station in West Hartford, CT

  • Detailed oriented by nature 

  • Comfortable working on multiple projects at the same time 

  • Ability to find creative solutions to projects 

  • Students with class standing of junior or above preferred 

  • Responsible, punctual, creative, and professional 

  • Able to interface maturely with all levels of company management, and able to participate in execution of strategic division and departmental initiatives 

  • Excellent organizational skills. Able to maintain departmental operational standards 

  • Top-notch written, verbal, and proofreading skills 

  • Ability to work in a fast paced, high-pressure environment 

  • Ability to work evenings and weekends when needed
