The Role and Impact
As a Principal Engineer, AI Systems and Solutions, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of artificial intelligence at Intel. This is an opportunity to lead the design and development of AI systems that integrate cutting-edge hardware, software, firmware, board, and silicon components. Your expertise will directly influence Intel's AI product roadmap, ensuring alignment with customer needs and advancing innovation across a range of industries, including autonomous driving, robotics, and cloud systems. Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop integrated AI solutions, including deep learning and machine learning systems, that meet customer requirements and operational constraints.
- Serve as a key contributor to AI systems architecture, translating business opportunities into actionable use cases and product specifications.
- Lead the definition of hardware and software components, ensuring performance optimization, reliability, and maintainability across the system lifecycle.
- Develop and innovate in areas such as reinforcement learning, policy learning, computer vision, simulation, and robotics.
- Conduct comprehensive analysis of component-level choices, factoring in performance, features, cost, security, scalability, and sustainability.
- Lead the implementation and integration of AI systems, deploying solutions, executing benchmarks, and delivering technical documentation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze next-generation opportunities, define research directions, and contribute directly to the AI product roadmap.
- Mentor and develop other technical leaders, fostering a culture of innovation and technical excellence across the organization.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field and 12+ years of experience in AI systems and solutions, or a Master's degree with 8+ years of experience, or a PhD with 6+ years of experience.
- Demonstrated expertise in AI productization platforms, deep learning models, and systems architecture.
- Proven experience in solution design, systems validation, and delivering end-to-end technical solutions.
- Proficiency in deep learning frameworks, programming languages such as Python or C++, and AI infrastructure tools.
- A strong track record of disciplined execution and delivering complex technical projects to market.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with reinforcement learning, autonomous systems, or sim2real applications.
- Familiarity with advanced memory, security, and operating system technologies that intersect with AI solutions.

Annual Salary Range for jobs which could be performed in the US: $255,850.00-361,200.00 USD
