About the Role
Responsible for leading the design and execution of innovative 2D and 3D packaging across Laura Mercier ensuring alignment with global brand strategy and driving strong shelf presence. This role partners closely with the Executive Director of Global Packaging to translate creative vision into best-in-class packaging solutions from concept through production. The Creative packaging designer brings a deep understanding of materials, manufacturing, and retail environments to deliver elevated, consumer-centric design. This position operates across multiple brands and categories, balancing strategic thinking with hands-on execution.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Lead the design, development, and execution of primary and secondary packaging across multiple brands with guidance from the Executive Director
  • Translate global brand vision into innovative, ownable packaging systems that drive brand equity and consistency across portfolios
  • Partner cross-functionally with Global Creative, Brand Marketing, Product Development, Packaging Development, and Visual Merchandising to bring concepts to life
  • Create and deliver Design Direction (DD) and Design Turnover Documents (DTO) to ensure seamless transition from concept to production
  • Design and direct execution of permanent packaging, seasonal launches, and promotional programs (including gift sets and retail moments)
  • Ensure all packaging is aligned with retailer requirements (e.g., Sephora, Ulta, eCommerce) and optimized for shelf visibility and navigation
  • Develop, evolve, and maintain packaging guidelines, franchise architecture, and brand standards across all assigned brands
  • Review and approve artwork mechanicals for print production across primary and secondary packaging
  • Oversee comp development, renderings, and sample reviews to ensure design integrity through production
  • Maintain an organized archive of packaging evolution, materials, and vendor outputs
  • Prepare and present compelling design concepts and strategic rationale to internal stakeholders and leadership
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, balancing competing priorities, timelines, and stakeholder needs
  • Proactively identify risks, troubleshoot design and production challenges, and drive solutions forward
  • Partner with vendors and manufacturers to ensure feasibility, quality, and cost alignment of design intent
  • Support innovation initiatives across materials, sustainability, and packaging formats

Qualifications & Competencies

  • 5-10 years of experience in packaging design, preferably within beauty, luxury, or lifestyle brands
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating excellence in both structural (3D) and graphic (2D) packaging design
  • Deep understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and print production
  • Experience designing for major retail environments (Sephora, Ulta, eCommerce, department stores)
  • Proven ability to lead projects from concept through production with cross-functional teams
  • High proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop required)
  • Strong presentation and storytelling skills with the ability to articulate and defend design decisions
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

At Orveon Global, we carefully consider a wide range of non-discriminatory factors when determining compensation. Actual salaries may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, education, experience, skills, and qualifications
The pay range for this position is $ 98,000- $130,500 Supplemented with all the amazing benefits above for full-time employees!
