Description of Duties
Title: Footwear & Accessories Design Intern
Classification: Nonexempt
Salary*: $18.50/hr
Schedule: Part-Time, On Site, Monday-Thursday (occasional Friday)
Location: Van Nuys, CA
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Supports Footwear and Accessories Team in all functions, under the direction of the VP Design Director
  • Assist in creating & preparing Design presentation boards and decks weekly and seasonally
  • Assists team with organization of samples
  • Assists team in building and maintaining the reference archive
  • Assist team in admin like naming and numbering styles, colors and artwork
  • Assist team in research for seasonal concept development, materials, trims & color
  • Assist team in creating embroidery layouts and special detail call outs and communicating them cross-functionally
  • Assist in taking photos and notes in fittings
  • Assist team in creating construction detail sketches when necessary
  • Assists team in executing sketch updates when necessary
  • Assist team in photographing samples and updating the sample library chart
  • Assists team in maintaining cross-functional Design documents
  • Builds Collaborative relationships cross-functionally with Development Teams and beyond
  • Other projects as assigned to support the needs of the team

Skills and Abilities:
  • Experience working in CAD, Microsoft Office
  • Strong illustrator and photoshop (adobe creative suite)
  • Strong planning and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Broad knowledge of fashion with a focus on vintage
  • Some knowledge of accessories
  • A high level of ownership, accountability and initiative
  • Ability to prioritize competing projects and meet deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Action oriented and results driven

Minimum Requirements
  • Must be able to be in office a minimum of 4 days a week; full schedule to be determined with supervisors.

Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to perform essential duties satisfactorily with reasonable accommodation
  • Periods sitting at a desk, typing, sketching and working on a computer
  • Able to lift/move/push/pull objects up to 25 lbs
  • Able to walk, sit and stand for periods of time
  • Able to operate equipment such as computers, copy machines, phones
  • Must be able to access various areas of a given location
