Job description

Wayne Metropolitan Community Action Agency consists of staff dedicated to serving others, which include professionalism, empathy, respect, excellent client service, maintaining confidentiality, punctuality with regular attendance.

We provide assistance to low to moderate income families to help address their most critical needs. The agency has over 70 programs, including valuable educational, housing, and emergency services.

Internship Description:

  • Providing a generalist social work overview with a focus in nonprofit work. Working closely with the Out Wayne CoCHomeless Management Information System (HMIS) team and SHHS program staff to support quality, accurate, and timely client data.

Interns Essential Functions:

  • Assist the Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) team with running data quality reports to support quarterly data clean ups
  • Provide support to programs in the implementation of their Data Maintenance Plans
  • Identify HMIS data training needs
  • Support the HMIS team in conducting auditing and monitoring program compliance
  • Develop workflows and reference guides
  • Assist with onboarding of new HMIS End Users
  • Assist with special projects related to HMIS data clean up
  • Other duties as assigned

This job operates in a professional office environment with a usually quiet noise level. This is largely a sedentary role and the employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.   • Actively obtaining a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work
  • Passionate about local community work and advocacy efforts
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective processes by employing critical thinking to relate tasks as a way to maximize efficiency through to completion
  • Possess proficiency in Google Sheets, Excel, and basic data analytics

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma/general education degree (GED) OR a combination of education and experience that is similarly equivalent.
  • Pass Criminal Background check & Drug Screening
