Role Specific Information
The Marketing team works to understand company product and service priorities as well as our customer's mindset and top priorities; we then develop and execute strategies to communicate the value of relevant Kohl's products and services to the right customers in the most efficient and profitable way possible. Marketing is centered on customer needs. After understanding what drives customer decisions we build strategy to be impactful for customers. Then we execute media, creative and promotional strategies that align with what's important to customers.
Job Description
ACCOUNTABILITIES
BRAND & CREATIVE MARKETING INTERN
  • Assist in development of Kohl's Brand storytelling and promotional experiences for our customers.
  • Work collectively with creative partners to bring Kohl's brands to life!

ADDENDUM
COPYWRITING INTERN: :
  • Leverage storytelling as well as story creation
  • Translates strategy into creative solutions
  • Adheres to standard copy practices and Kohl's brand voice guidelines
  • Works closely with art directors, designers, strategy and merchant partners to develop compelling content
  • Attends relevant meetings & presents project work at creative reviews with marketing leaders
  • Responsible for editing copy to reflect changes from requests and reviews
  • Knows the status of each project and ensures milestones and deadlines are met

DESIGN INTERN:
  • Execute overarching design (look & feel) in conjunction with copy
  • Solves creative challenges and builds creative that delivers on business objectives and strategy
  • Implements projects within established creative vision
  • Collaborates with Marketing partners on all projects as necessary to develop creative solutions
  • Captures customer needs across all channels and aspects of creative design
  • Reviews all stages of project with Art Director/Manager
  • Prepares creative presentation materials.
  • Presents and reviews all creative to/with Art Director/Manager
  • Collaborates with Project Management to keep project on schedule and assists with timeline development
  • Maintains job notes on critical design details for future reference

VISUAL PRESENTATION DESIGN INTERN:
  • Design and develop highly creative fixture and visual solutions for Kohl's stores and/or Kohl's Corporate

ART PRODUCTION INTERN:
  • Deliver consistent and cost-effective creative solutions to produce omni-channel marketing initiatives through photography and video

MARKETING STRATEGY INTERN
  • Interpret and synthesize data and insights to contribute to projects that drive traffic to our stores and website
  • Develop and recommend data-driven strategies to marketing decision makers
  • Activate new marketing tactics and/or processes (leave your mark with "real" work experience)
  • Contribute to the creation and execution of cross-channel brand, digital, and event marketing plan

MARKETING ANALYTICS INTERN
  • Synthesize large quantities of data
  • Measure the effectiveness of tactics in market
  • Provide reports and insights to leadership that guide marketing decision makers

  • Graphic Design or equivalent major required
  • Strong understanding of layouts, typography, composition, color and other graphic design fundamentals

  • Demonstrated ability to present creative ideas in a professional manner

VISUAL PRESENTATION DESIGN INTERN:
  • Major in Visual Merchandising, Marketing, Architecture, Merchandising or other applicable fields. Must have experience in Sketch-up, Inventor and Adobe Creative Suite

  • Major in Communications, Journalism, Theater, Marketing Management, Event Planning, Broadcast, Project Management, Public Relations or other applicable fields
