JOB SUMMARY:

The Utah Mammoth is looking for a skilled and motivated Producer and Editor Intern to join our Content Team for the 2026โ€“27 season. This role is primarily focused on editing: transforming raw footage and long-form video into compelling short-form content that resonates with social media audiences. The ideal candidate brings robust editing experience and a strong eye for storytelling, with a particular focus on gameday content such as Tusk Talk and educational content tailored to YouTube audiences. This is an in-person internship based in Sandy, UT. Candidates must be able to independently commute to our Sandy, UT office. A portfolio must be submitted with your application to be considered.


DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Edit and produce short-form social contentโ€”including Instagram Reels, TikTok, and YouTube Shortsโ€”with a primary focus on gameday programming such as Tusk Talk and youth hockey education content.
  • Transform long-form video into shorter, punchy cuts optimized for social media platforms and audience engagement.
  • Utilize a mix of preexisting assetsโ€”including cinematic camera footage, broadcast melts, and iPhone videosโ€”to craft compelling short- and long-form content.
  • Work closely with the Content Manager and Team Writer/Multimedia Reporter on a daily basis, collaborating on priorities and creative direction.
  • Assist the Team Writer/Multimedia Reporter in researching and reporting on Utah Mammoth and NHL stats, standings, and story angles for the purposes of editing and producing long-form video for use in the Mammothโ€™s school programs and learning content.
  • Support the Team Writer/Multimedia Reporter with weekly edits covering team stories and video features.
  • Assist with shooting various types of video content, including media availabilities, press conferences, and event recaps, as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro) is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to edit long-form video into short-form, social-ready content is required.
  • Experience crafting and editing short-form, vertical content for social platforms is required.
  • A creative mindset with a willingness to test new formats, learn from performance data, and iterate on content is required.
  • Experience with Sony Cinema Cameras (FX6, FX3, etc.) a plus.
  • Ability to light press conferences and set up a mixer and press box is a plus.
  • At least two years of experience in video editing is required.
  • A strong portfolio or demo reel showcasing editing work is required. Applications without a submitted portfolio will not be considered.
  • Demonstrated experience editing long-form video into short-form social content is required.
  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Film, Media Studies, Communications, or a related field is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to receive and apply feedback is required.
  • Must be able to independently travel to the office in Sandy, UT.
  • Interest in the NHL and familiarity with hockey stats and culture is preferred.
  • Ability to ice skate is a plus.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • This person must be able to communicate and express themselves both written and verbally.
  • This person must be able to observe, inspect, estimate, and assess.
  • This person must be able to sit, stand, bend, walk, and climb stairs for long periods of time.
  • This person must be able to lift 30 lbs.
