Job description

The Institutional Giving Advancement Intern will provide an inquisitive emerging arts administrator with opportunities to learn new skills and improve systems essential for the success in any arts fundraising department. Supporting the Senior Associate Director of Institutional Giving and Impact, the intern will receive mentorship while contributing to the work of the Advancement department.


Responsibilities:

  • Research new and lapsed institutional funders and institutional giving opportunities
  • Gather relevant materials for proposals and reports, including information on past seasons, artists, and community partners
  • Write sections of proposals and reports, working closely with theSeniorAssociate Director of Institutional Giving and Impact
  • Edit and proofread proposals and reports
  • Collaborate with Community Engagement to track community partner relationships
  • Assist withNeighborhood Arts audience andCommunity Engagement artist and partner survey collection and assessment
  • Data entry in the Tessitura database
  • Other duties as assigned to assist the Advancement department orVivo Performing Arts team

Desired qualifications:

  • A currently enrolled undergraduate, recent graduate (2025or 2026)or graduate student, studying the arts, arts administration, communications, or an adjacent field, or similar experience
  • General knowledge of and passion for the performing arts industry
  • Must have excellent writing and communication skills
  • Must be attentive to detail, have ability to meet deadlines, and be a self-starter
  • Background in/knowledge of music (classical and jazz in particular) is not requiredbut helpful

Salary and Time Requirements:

  • $15 per hour
  • 10-15 hours per week over 2-4days per week during 9am-5pm business hours
  • Internship dates are from September- December 2026, with the potential to extend into June 2027
  • This internship is hybrid: remote and in person depending on the duties of the week, within-person hours established with the supervisor
