EMPLOYMENT TERMS: August 3-6, 3.5hrs/day
POSITION OVERVIEW: The Summer Bridge Program Teacher helps rising ninth-grade students successfully transition to high school through academic enrichment, skill development, and student engagement.
TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Provides targeted reading, writing and speaking skill development that is needed for incoming 9th graders to more strongly enter and navigate through Freshman courses
  • Scaffold instruction such that it leads to students' in-depth understanding
  • Provide opportunities for students to demonstrate their understandings in a variety of ways
  • Support students in understanding how to work in collaborative groups to complete a project
  • Knowledgeable about teen developmental markers
  • Ability to provide differentiated instruction
  • Familiar with MLL strategies

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION:
  • valid CT CSDE Certification

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish)

SALARY: $41/HR
EMPLOYMENT TERMS: 3.5 hrs/ 4 days per week, $41/hour
