The ideal candidate will possess some classroom experience or experience working with children in general and hold a bachelor's degree, or a Delaware teaching license and/or an area-specific certificate. For a Substitute Assistant position, a bachelor's degree is not necessary.
State regulations require all adults working with three and four-year-olds must hold a DEEDS Intern or higher Early Childhood Certificate.
In the absence of the classroom teacher, the substitute teacher provides continuity of instruction, encourages student progress, and manages the learning environment in a positive way.
Responsibilities of the Substitute Teacher PreK- 8th grade include the following.
