Customer Service Representative
Office address: 116 Dill Road, Suffolk, VA 23434
Full-time, Monday-Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm

Maritime Delivery Services (MDS) is an intermodal trucking company with 4 offices in the US. MDS has been in business since 2007 providing safe, reliable service with dedicated staff and business-oriented independent contractors.

Job Duties:
  • Ability to work with drivers, assisting, and finding solutions
  • Set appointments with customers to maximize daily productivity
  • General bookkeeping including updating invoice registers, coding invoices, tracking charge backs to customers, drivers and terminals
  • Input new loads in system
  • Keep dispatch system updated with contact info and shipment delivery instructions
  • Provide assistance to external/internal customers regarding inland transportation and company standards
  • Measure and report performance of basic intermodal initiatives
  • assist customer service with timely capacity changes and reschedule appointments as need
  • Maintain and update dispatch system in accordance with Port of Virginia site
  • Manage drivers with service issues, ELD issues, safety concerns
  • Compile and process paperwork for quarterly fuel tax reporting
Qualifications:
  • 1-2 years' experience in Intermodal trucking office experience
  • Strong data entry skills
Preferred Skills:
  • Port of Virginia site experience
  • General proficiency in office equipment (personal computers, fax, copier, calculator, data entry)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Be a team player - Interacts effectively with people externally and internally
  • Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel and MS Outlook
