We offer clients advanced in-house engineering & design with 3D modeling, piloting, fabrication and machining, in-house control panel shop, and a full range of field services, allowing us to provide turn-key solutions.


We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Intermediate Project Manager to join our team. As an Intermediate Project Manager, you will play a crucial role in the successful execution of projects, demonstrating leadership, technical expertise, and effective communication throughout the project lifecycle. You will be responsible for developing project execution strategies, managing budgets and schedules, coordinating with stakeholders, ensuring safety protocols are followed, and providing strong leadership in risk management and problem-solving.


Duties and responsibilities

  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to safety protocols and lead by example, fostering a culture of safety among the project team.
  • Develop effective project execution strategies for engineering, design, fabrication, and field commissioning activities, ensuring alignment with project objectives.
  • Lead the development of high-level plans and detailed schedules for projects, considering critical milestones and resource allocation.
  • Manage various aspects of the project, including engineering, design, supply chain, fabrication, subcontractors, and external stakeholders such as 3rd party engineering firms, construction companies, and major equipment providers.
  • Take ownership of overall project budgets, closely monitoring expenses, and implementing cost-control measures.
  • Manage the project schedule and timeline, tracking deliverables and proactively addressing any deviations or risks.
  • Maintain constant communication and coordination with clients, providing regular updates, addressing inquiries, and managing expectations.
  • Travel to project sites, including remote locations, as required throughout the duration of a project to oversee activities and ensure project success.
  • Manage documentation processes, ensuring accurate record-keeping, adherence to standards, and timely submission of required documentation.
  • Lead quality assurance efforts, implementing rigorous checks to ensure project deliverables meet the required standards.
  • Independently oversees and analyzes key project metrics, ensuring project alignment with budget and schedule. Proactively provides detailed updates and reports, identifies deviations or risks, and suggests potential mitigation strategies
  • Implement and manage changes to project plans when necessary to align with project outputs and objectives.
  • Evaluate and assess project results, analyzing successes, challenges, and lessons learned, and reporting findings to office management and clients.
  • Lead the team in project change management activities, facilitating smooth transitions and minimizing disruptions.
  • Provide leadership in risk management and conflict resolution, proactively identifying and mitigating risks and resolving conflicts that may arise.
  • Apply critical thinking and lead teams in problem-solving efforts, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.
  • Support proposal development by providing input for hours estimates, Vendor Document and Data registration, and Scopes of Work for engineering, design, fabrication, and field commissioning.
  • Effectively fosters professional and positive relationships with a diverse range of project stakeholders, such as owners, engineers, subcontractors, and vendors. Proactively manages stakeholder communication.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated ability to proficiently navigate the key technical, commercial, and financial aspects of projects.
  • Proven track record of independent evaluation to identify significant opportunities and risks, coupled with the aptitude to formulate strategic recommendations for project decision-making.
  • Capacity to judiciously seek guidance from senior management when necessary, ensuring informed and effective project execution.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant project experience, with specific experience in the municipal or industrial water treatment sectors and a solid technical understanding of various industrial processes and related mechanical equipment.
  • Experience working with relevant project management and/or ERP software packages.
  • Completion of an Engineering degree/diploma or other Technical Post-Secondary Program would be an asset.
  • Certification in project management (e.g. PMP, PMI, MBA) or equivalent would be an advantage.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent projects at varying stages of completion.
  • Hands-on, proactive approach with the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced business environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate project teams.
  • Capability to interpret data and make informed decisions based on analysis.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
