Electrical Project Engineer - Commercial Interiors| Greenwood Village, CO

IMEG is hiring an Electrical Project Engineer in Greenwood Village, CO to lead design efforts with commercial interiors for low to moderate complexity projects and support larger, high-complexity work with senior staff. This role focuses on the analysis, design, andimplementationoversight of electrical systems forvertical buildingindustry,within the commercial interiors market.

You will support project planning, budgeting, scheduling, quality reviews, client coordination, and mentoring while working with multidisciplinary teams to meet project goals and client expectations. Aligned with a team active incommercial-focused MEP work, repeat tenant improvement programs, and broader mixed-use efforts, this role helps advance high-performance, energy-efficient design aligned with MEP2050 and AIA2030.

What You'll Do

  • Lead design efforts for the analysis ofelectrical and lightingsystems in support of commercial interiors and tenant improvement projects.

  • Lead design efforts for the analysis of electrical systems, creating designs, specifications, and calculations using engineering software and tools according to code requirements and IMEG standards.

  • Interact with clients to understand project needs, gather requirements, communicate technical information, and build client relationships through professional communication.

  • Support the execution of consulting projects as part of a project team.

  • Lead project planning, budgeting, and scheduling tasks to meet project deadlines andobjectives.

  • Document design decisions and client instructions whilemonitoringdesign progress, percent complete, and feeexpended.

  • Analyze engineering problems and collaborate with senior engineers and consultants to develop practical, efficient solutions.

  • Provide in-process design reviews of electrical system designs, calculations, and specifications, and implement IMEG quality control processes to meet quality, industry, and client requirements.

  • Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in electrical engineering, and contribute to research, development, and innovation efforts within IMEG.

  • Prioritize safety in all aspects of engineering work andidentifyand mitigate potential safety risks associated with electrical systems.

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including other engineers, architects, and project managers, to deliver integrated solutions that meet project goals.

  • Identifypotential project problems and seek advice from the Project Manager.

  • Oversee projects throughbiddingand construction administration phase.

  • Train and mentor less experienced staff and collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet project goals and client expectations.

What You'll Bring

Required

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent required

  • Professional Engineer (PE) Licenserequired

  • 2 years of experience minimumrequired, 4 preferred, in the building design consulting industry withpreviousexperience in the commercial interiors market sector

Skills and Abilities

  • Proficiencyin design techniques, tools, and concepts involved in the production of technical plans and specifications

  • Strong technical and analytical skills including knowledge of principles relating to circuit theory, electromagnetism, power systems, and electronics as they relate to electrical systems design for buildings

  • Proficient with industry standard engineering software and tools including lighting photometric calculation software such as AGI, Elum Tools, Visual Lighting, or other; power system analysis and design software such as SKM/PTW, Easy Power, or other; and energy compliance software such asComCheck.

  • Proficient with Adobe or Bluebeam Revu

  • Knowledge of Illumination Engineering Society (IES) Standards

  • Proficient with the use of reference material resources such as NFPA Link,TechStreet,and/orMadCAD

  • Knowledge of Master Specification editing and software such aseSPECS

  • KnowledgeofRevitBIM software,CTC Revit AddInToolsand other smarttoolswithinRevit for electrical calculations, coordination, properties, etc.

  • Ability to train and mentor less experienced staff

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills

  • Proficient with MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook

  • Ability to travel up to 10% with occasional overnight stays

  • National rollout and prototype tenant improvement work supports repeat program delivery across multiple clients and locations.

  • Repeat assignments include brands such asDoor Dash,DashMart,Edward Jones, The UPS Store, DoorDash, T-Mobile, and NVI/America's Best.

  • Additionally, unique one-off commercial interior projects for specialty clients.

State of Colorado Salary Range:$98,000-$131,000per year

The range listed aboverepresentsthe base pay IMEG reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position in the work locationidentifiedabove at the time of posting. For positions available in multiple locations, the minimums and maximums may vary based on work location.

Individual compensation will bedeterminedbased on job-related factors, including the candidate's experience, education, knowledge, skills, abilities, and licensure and certifications.

Other rewards may include annual bonuses and stock ownership options.
