Job description

Description
  • Product Engineering lead for Interior Trim programs in Interiors
  • Support business pursuit activities through tool kick off with technical input and presentations includes review of SOR's, SSTS, creating EBoM and technical feasibility
  • Owner of technical definition of product. Responsible for the achievement of the product requirements: define the key process parameters and work with cross functional team to ensure the manufacturing process is documented to enable meeting program metrics: First Time Quality and Operational Equipment Efficiency
  • During design phase create and manage design open issue list by part to promote closure of build and/or manufacturability concerns
  • Help Customer with up-front packaging development and typical section criteria
  • Mentor and coach other team members
  • Attend all internal Design and Gate Reviews for Door programs and provide "Technical Guidance" as needed
  • Work effectively in a team environment with a cross-functional team: design, tooling, CAE, quality, manufacturing, finance, purchasing, sales
  • Create initial product design concepts
  • Support Internal PDT meetings and "design issue resolution" utilizing engineering tools
  • Establish effective communications (written and verbal) between customers, internal groups and suppliers
  • Provide input to the component and system datum / attachment schemes and GD&T (Dimensional) plan
  • Comply with all Inteva policies and procedures
  • Generate and implement cost savings ideas
  • Generate "Request for Quotes and Statement of Requirements" for purchased parts
  • Issue Change Requests and Design Requests as needed
  • Review designs for "Manufacturability" (Draft angles, part break-up, etc.)
  • Participate in internal and external build events and meetings; drive product &/or process improvements
  • Document Lessons Learned
  • Participate in warranty improvement activities

Position Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum 5-10 years of automotive door trim product engineering experience
  • Energetic personality / high passion for success
  • Excellent organization and planning skills
  • Creative problem solving skills & self-starting: Work effectively with others, high results orientation
  • Knowledge of injection molding, thermoforming, olefin materials, cut/sew/wrap
  • Basic CAD skills: NX &/or Catia
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally
  • Ability to manage, coordinate and deliver multiple complex tasks
  • Microsoft Office proficiency: Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Project
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering

PREFERRED
  • Multiple functional automotive Interior experiences (Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Tooling)
  • Multiple Interior partition experience (Instrument Panel, Floor Console)
