IAV is currently seeking a highly motivated Senior Seat Design & Release Engineer for Interior Systems to support Interior Systems development. In this role, you will be responsible for the design and release of key seat system components for next-generation electric pickup trucks and rugged SUVs.

You will play a critical role in delivering high-quality, innovative solutions from concept through production, working closely with engineering, manufacturing, and supplier teams in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.

Essential Responsibilities & Activities:

  • Coordinate with suppliers to ensure accurate data uploads into the systems
  • Manage part updates and changes to support manufacturability, performance, and system integration
  • Obtain B-release approval for complete seat system components
  • Ensure supplier tooling timelines align with program milestones
  • Support DV/PV testing and lead issue resolution for seat systems
  • Assist with supplier and onsite project builds.
  • Track and resolve open issues throughout all build phases
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and U.S. regulatory requirements
  • Drive continuous improvement in system performance and customer experience
  • Support manufacturing readiness, including production processes and facility input
  • Manage supplier deliverables to meet cost, quality, and timing targets.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Systems Engineering, or a related field
  • 8+ years of experience developing complete seat systems across all phases
  • Strong background in product design, engineering analysis, and development
  • Proficiency in CATIA (including section cuts and data review)
  • Experience with DV/PV testing for complete seat systems
  • Solid understanding of quality processes (DFMEA, PFMEA, Control Plans)
  • Knowledge of seat system requirements and integration
  • Proven ability to quickly resolve technical issues
  • Ability to follow engineering direction and implement design changes
  • Strong collaboration skills across cross-functional and global teams
  • Excellent organization, attention to detail, and communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Willingness to travel, as needed
