Position Overview: The Head Cashier plays an important role supporting the Front End Supervisor in motivating front end associates to follow GET behaviours and provide customers a great shopping experience. The Head Cashier coaches, trains and develops Front End and Lot Associates along with maintaining coverage through scheduling and providing first level of escalation for customer issues. Key Responsibilities: Ensures Customer Satisfaction Lead by example in consistently demonstrating GET behaviours and promoting positive associate morale. Ensure sufficient checkouts are available by maintaining lines no longer than one at the register plus two more waiting in line. Walk front end from the customer experience perspective daily, ensuring Grand Opening readiness, ad execution (per Playbook) and flyer readiness. Observe associates and work activity, ensuring appropriate staffing levels to meet business needs. Provide associates with the training, information, tools, coaching, guidance, encouragement and recognition needed to meet expectations and/or take on higher levels of responsibility. Leading the Front End Communicate goals, priorities, and directions from store leadership to associates. Ensure the parking lot is shoppable and free of debris. Engage back-up cashiers as necessary and assign them to predetermined registers. Operate cash machines and train cashiers accordingly. Assist guards for cash collection. Maintains Safety and Security Follows all Safety and Loss Prevention policies and procedures. Follows processes on the front-end designed to mitigate shrink and protect assets, ensuring front end associates do the same.
