Job description

The Interior Finishing Material Specialist will be responsible for the development of quality methods and procedures for interior finishing materials. Per company procedures and guidelines will select, identify risk, and approve a variety of interior finishing materials at suppliers' locations; work with a variety of interior finishing material processes for aircraft cabinet components at the expected standards of safety, quality, schedule, and cost, using engineering and industrial definitions, procedures and guidelines that support the delivery to the aircraft for all aircraft models. Promote and foster a positive work environment and display a positive and respective attitude.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, business administration, design, or related field.

May substitute two years of directly related experience for one year of education.

  • 3 (three) years of experience in the wood selection process.
  • Solid working knowledge of common and several exotic interior finishing materials, understanding their basic properties, effectively utilizing various standard finishing materials and application techniques. (e.g. veneers, hardwoods, finish coatings, upholstery, wallpaper).
  • Proficient in applying core LEAN tools for manufacturing (can independently develop Process Mapping and 5M) methods.
  • Can proficiently, with accuracy and clarity, document and present technical results that are logical, and complete to peers and management.
  • Advanced communication skills.
  • Must have the ability to proficiently operate computers with Microsoft Office Suites and learn company production software programs.
  • Must have strong analytical skills to manage technical issues to quickly identify and diagnose with comprehensive solutions.
  • Pass vision testing, minimum 20/20 corrected, and with no limitations in color perception.
  • Proficient in developing, monitoring, and managing project schedules and budgets effectively to meet company objectives and financial goals.
  • Previous project or program management experience.

ADDITIONAL DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master's degree.
  • Multidimensional thinking (analytical and issue solving skills)
