Job description

Attention Architects, Interior Designers, Industrial Designers, and anyone else who has tremendous skill and passion for designing highly creative three-dimensional spaces. Do you thrive under pressure. Are you a master at multi-tasking and keeping a bunch of balls in the air.

Do you have strong attention to detail and like to analyze information to figure out the best path forward. Are you impatient and need to get things checked off your to-do list to feel like you accomplished something for the day. Can you work well with others but are also good at keeping yourself occupied and productive.

Do you like working within a structured framework that defines the process for getting your work done but also provides plenty of leeway for you to define how it gets accomplished. Are you looking for the next big challenge in your career. Culton Companies, Inc.

in Birmingham, AL (D/B/A: ExpoDisplays, Method-1 Interiors, and Warner Museums) is growing and looking for our next "rain-making" Senior Designer to join our team. We create some of the most innovative and award-winning trade show exhibits, commercial interiors, and museums in the industry. Look up our websites and see for yourself.

Our unique process allows us to design and build the entire project in our 130,000-square-foot facility prior to delivering the components to the site for assembly and installation. As a designer, this vertical integration means you have all of our equipment, processes, and people at your disposal throughout the project. Best of all, our team of super-talented designers, production engineers, and carpenters will even figure out how to build your ideas for you.

Think: Total. Creative. Freedom.

What we're looking for is a highly creative designer with at least 5 years of professional experience who is looking to flex your creative muscles. You must be able to comfortably and eloquently interact with clients, sketching out concepts on the fly in meetings or while touring clients' spaces. You also need to be able to juggle multiple projects at once, work quickly and have an endless source of creative energy since we do hundreds of projects each year.

We offer competitive pay based on experience (and potential), a 401K plan with employer match, Blue Cross insurance, a generous PTO policy, regular company cookouts, pot-luck lunches, and the occasional Food Truck Friday. This position is based in our Birmingham, AL, corporate headquarters facility. It is a full-time 40-hour per week, M-F 8:00-5:00 (or thereabouts) salaried position.

Let's be honest. If you've read this far, then this opportunity probably sounds pretty good to you. Click through, fill out the survey, attach your resume, cover letter, and some portfolio samples, and we'll see where it goes.
