About the Role

We are seeking a talented and experienced Lead Interior Designer – Design Team Manager to lead the design department and oversee end-to-end project execution. This leadership role is ideal for a creative professional who thrives on collaboration, mentorship, and translating client needs into exceptional design solutions.

Experience in education design (K-12 and higher education) is highly preferred.


Key Responsibilities
  • Lead interior design projects from concept development through final implementation.

  • Define and manage project scope, requirements, schedules, deliverables, and budgets.

  • Translate client goals into innovative, functional, and visually compelling design solutions.

  • Research, source, and specify finishes, fabrics, and products aligned with project objectives.

  • Supervise, guide, and mentor junior designers to ensure quality and consistency in deliverables.

  • Collaborate with architects, designers, vendors, and clients to build strong partnerships.

  • Manage the commercial furniture purchasing process, including order placement, tracking, and follow-up.


Required Qualifications
  • Proven experience in commercial furniture design and space planning.

  • Strong knowledge of layouts, specifications, finishes, and materials.

  • Proficiency with design software such as CET, AutoCAD, CAP, 2020, Visual Impression, SketchUp, Illustrator, or similar tools.

  • Solid understanding of the commercial furniture purchasing and order management process.

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and project management skills.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or a related field required.

  • NCIDQ certification preferred (or currently in process).

  • Portfolio of previous design work is required with the application.
