Job description

Description:

We are seeking an innovative, design-driven AI Interior Designer to bridge interior design expertise with advanced artificial intelligence tools and workflows. This role blends creative vision, spatial design, data-driven insight, and emerging AI technologies to deliver visually compelling, high performance, and scalable interior design solutions across residential, commercial, and experiential environments.

You will collaborate closely with designers, technical specialists, engineers, and product teams, and clients to redefine how interior spaces are conceived, visualized, optimized, and delivered, leveraging AI while maintaining strong human-led design intent.

Key Responsibilities

Design Innovation & Execution

  • Lead the use and integration of AI-powered design tools—including generative design platforms, parametric modelling, image generation, and space-planning algorithms alongside traditional interior design methodologies.
  • Translate client briefs, brand strategies, and functional requirements into compelling spatial narratives using hybrid AI-assisted and human-led workflows.
  • Produce high-quality design deliverables such as mood boards, photorealistic renderings, material palettes, layouts, and rapid design iterations using tools including Midjourney, DALL·E, Stable Diffusion, RunwayML, or equivalent emerging platforms.

Technical Leadership & AI Integration

  • Collaborate with technical design teams, visualization specialists, engineers, and product partners to develop, test, and refine AI workflows and models tailored to interior design applications.
  • Establish feedback loops to continuously improve AI-generated outputs based on design critique, client feedback, and project outcomes.
  • Document, standardize, and champion best practices for AI tool adoption across studio teams.

Data-Driven Design Optimization

  • Leverage data analytics, including user behavior patterns, sustainability metrics, material performance data, and cost constraints to inform and optimize layouts, finishes, furnishings, and spatial strategies.
  • Balance aesthetic excellence with measurable performance outcomes such as spatial efficiency, environmental impact, material lifecycle, and budget adherence.

Compliance & Industry Standards

  • Ensure all design outputs comply with applicable building codes, accessibility standards (ADA and local jurisdictions), fire and life-safety regulations, and sustainability frameworks (LEED, WELL, BREEAM, etc.).
  • Maintain design integrity while navigating regulatory requirements across multiple geographies.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Present complex design concepts clearly and persuasively to multidisciplinary internal teams (design, technical, &, branding, procurement) and external stakeholders (clients, consultants, contractors, regulatory bodies).
  • Act as a bridge between creative vision and technical execution, translating AI- generated outputs into actionable design documentation for project delivery.

Thought Leadership & Continuous Learning

  • Monitor and evaluate emerging AI technologies, computational design methods, and global interior design trends; proactively recommend tools and workflows that enhance studio capability.
  • Contribute to internal knowledge sharing through workshops, case studies, and cross-studio collaboration.
  • Represent the firm’s AI-enabled design capability in client presentations, industry events, and thought leadership platforms as needed.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, Industrial Design, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
  • 3+ years of experience in interior design, architectural design, or spatial design.
  • Hands-on experience with AI-assisted design tools, generative design platforms, or computational workflows.
  • Proficiency in industry-standard design and visualization software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Rhino, Adobe Creative Suite).
  • Strong foundation in space planning, materials, lighting, color theory, and furniture systems.
  • Ability to balance creative ambition with technical, regulatory, budgetary, and functional constraints.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and collaboration skills.
  • The base salary range will be estimated between $55,000-$70,000 plus benefits and contingent on relevant experience and abilities.

Education & Experience

  • Experience with machine learning concepts, prompt engineering, or AI workflow optimization.
  • Familiarity with VR/AR tools for spatial visualization and experiential design.
  • Knowledge of sustainable design principles and WELL / LEED certification frameworks.
  • Experience working in product-led, technology-driven, or startup environments.
  • Portfolio demonstrating AI-assisted, computational, or technology-forward interior design work.

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package.
  • Opportunity to work at the forefront of interior design and artificial intelligence.
  • Creative autonomy and access to cutting-edge AI and visualization tools.
  • A collaborative, forward-thinking studio culture.
