Job description

Interior Designer – Commercial Furniture & Sales Growth Opportunity

Hi! Thank you for your interest in our position!

We're looking for a talented Interior Designer with a passion for commercial spaces and an interest in growing into a client-facing sales role. This is a unique opportunity for a designer who has direct experience with commercial furniture dealers, FF&E (Furniture, Fixtures & Equipment) specification, and CET Designer software, and who is excited about the idea of building client relationships and exploring a path into sales.

You'll split your time between design work — space planning, furniture specification, and CET renderings — and client-facing activities, including site visits, walkthroughs, and relationship-building conversations that naturally support the sales process. If you're a designer who loves being in front of clients as much as you love being behind the design software, this role is built for you.

What You'll Do

  • Develop space plans, furniture layouts, and design concepts for commercial interiors using CET Designer
  • Specify and source FF&E (furniture, fixtures & equipment) in coordination with commercial furniture dealers and manufacturers
  • Prepare renderings, finish schedules, and presentation materials for client-facing proposals
  • Travel to client sites for measurements, installations, walkthroughs, and in-person consultations
  • Partner closely with the sales team on proposals, presentations, and client pitches
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients, acting as a trusted design resource throughout the sales cycle
  • Identify opportunities within existing design projects to introduce additional products, services, or scope
  • Represent the company at client meetings, site visits, and industry events
  • Collaborate with project managers, sales reps, and dealer partners to ensure design intent carries through to installation

What We're Looking For

  • Experience working within a commercial furniture dealer environment (required)
  • Proficiency with CET Designer (required)
  • Strong understanding of FF&E specification and procurement processes
  • Comfortable and willing to travel to client sites as needed (hybrid/remote flexibility for the rest)
  • Prior experience in sales, business development, or client relationship management — OR a clear interest in moving in that direction
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills; comfortable speaking directly with clients
  • A collaborative, relationship-oriented mindset — someone who enjoys people as much as design
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or related field preferred (or equivalent professional experience)

Ideal Candidate

You're a designer at heart, but you've noticed you're just as energized by client meetings and relationship-building as you are by design software. Maybe you've already dipped a toe into sales, or maybe you've just been waiting for the right opportunity to explore it. Either way, you see this role as a chance to grow — combining your design expertise with a path toward business development and client relationships.

Why Join Us

  • Remote/hybrid flexibility with purposeful in-person client interaction
  • A defined growth path from design into sales/business development
  • Collaborative team environment with mentorship from experienced sales professionals
  • Opportunity to work across a variety of commercial projects and client industries
  • Competitive salary, commission/bonus potential as you grow into sales responsibilities, and benefits package
