Job description

Interim Controller (CONTRACT) Fully Onsite (5 days/week) - Richardson, TX One of Vaco’s clients is looking for a strong hands-on Controller with government contracts/ defense experience - Company is acquisitive. They are looking for a process-focused Accountant that can bring ideas to the table, establish internal control and lead process improvement initiatives. Compensation: $70-$80/hr The Role: Oversee all day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, AP/AR, payroll, billing, cash management, and month-end close Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP Maintain balance sheet integrity, including reconciliations and supporting schedules Support preparation of P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow reporting for management and corporate stakeholders Oversee and administer company 401(k) plan, including compliance, reporting, audits, and coordination with 3rd party administrators Ensure accurate and timely payroll tax filings and payments (federal, state, and local) Oversee federal income tax Manage sales and use tax compliance, registrations, and audit support Requirements: 7 years+ progressive accounting and finance experience Required bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business, or related field, or equivalent experience.
