About our local organization: You'll be joining our Aurora Software and Electronics/Payloads Department which has ~200 Software Engineers, DevOps Engineers, Systems Administrators, Database Administrators, Network Engineers, and Engineering Leaders from entry-level to the most senior chief engineers and architects to Product Owners and Scrum Masters. This engineering organization supports numerous programs across Divisions and Business Units of the Space Sector. We have opportunities for career advancement into higher level technical roles or leadership positions over one's career.

We are seeking a seasoned Software Engineer to lead a small, highperforming development team focused on building and evolving userinterface (UI) applications deployed in cloud environments. The ideal candidate will have handson experience across the full stack-backend services, frontend UI, and cloud operations-and a proven track record of extending existing UI platforms with new capabilities while championing Agile development practices.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Level 5: Bachelor's degree in Science with 12+ years of software development experience; Master's with 10+ years of relative experience; or an additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree.

  • Requires an active Top-Secret (TS) clearance with Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) eligibility, at time of application.

  • Ability to pass a Counterintelligence Polygraph (CI-Poly) (not required to start)

  • Experience with FullStack Development: Design, implement, and maintain backend services (e.g., APIs, data processing).

  • Ability to analyze existing UI codebases to identify improvement opportunities to extend functionality, improve performance and scalability, and ensure maintainability.

  • Familiarity with Agile Processes

  • Experience producing and maintaining architectural diagrams, API specs, and developer guides.

  • Experience with TypeScipt/Node.js, React or equivalent (Angular, Vue)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with containerization (Docker, Podman, Kubernetes).

  • Knowledge of UI performance optimization.

  • Exposure to automated testing frameworks.

  • Languages: Python, Golang

  • Technologies: NestJS, Express, Redis, BullMQ, SQL Database, RxJS, GitLab

  • Cloud Services: AWS (EC2, S3, CloudFront, Amplify, RDS)

  • Atlassian Suite

Primary Level Salary Range: $177,000.00 - $265,600.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.The application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
