Job description

Aretum is seeking skilled UI Engineers (React) to support a federal civilian client. This role will focus on developing user interface components, integrating APIs, building unit tests, and supporting front-end application development using React, TypeScript, GraphQL, Vitest, Azure DevOps, and Git. 

The ideal candidate has a strong background in developing React components based on UX designs, wireframes, user stories, and acceptance criteria. This position requires strong attention to detail, sound troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with UX designers, engineers, testers, business analysts, and project stakeholders in an Agile delivery environment. 

Responsibilities 

  • Develop React components using TypeScript based on UX designs, wireframes, user stories, and acceptance criteria.  
  • Build, enhance, and maintain user interface components for enterprise applications.  
  • Integrate APIs into UI components, including GraphQL-based APIs.  
  • Develop unit tests for new and existing components using Vitest.  
  • Debug issues reported by testers and users and implement bug fixes.  
  • Collaborate with UX designers, business analysts, engineers, and testers to refine acceptance criteria and ensure UI functionality aligns with project requirements.  
  • Support functional validation, regression testing, and sprint release activities.  
  • Use Azure DevOps and Git to manage tasks, code, status updates, and version control.  
  • Support application development and deployment across local, test, staging, and cloud environments.  
  • Work with technical teams supporting applications built with technologies such as React, TypeScript, GraphQL, ASP.NET Core, Entity Framework Core, PostgreSQL, Kubernetes, Helm, Azure, Azure Pipelines, Azure DevOps, and Git.  
  • Maintain clear technical documentation and communicate status, risks, blockers, and quality concerns to the project team. 

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent professional background.  
  • 5+ years of user interface, front-end, or software development.  
  • Hands-on background developing UI components using React and TypeScript.  
  • Ability to develop React components based on UX designs, wireframes, user stories, and acceptance criteria.  
  • Skilled in building unit tests for new and existing components using Vitest or similar testing frameworks.  
  • Ability to debug UI issues, troubleshoot defects, and implement effective fixes.  
  • Familiarity with API integration, including GraphQL.  
  • Knowledge of containerized application environments, from local development through cloud deployments.  
  • Familiarity with ASP.NET Core, Entity Framework Core, and PostgreSQL in application environments.  
  • Knowledge of Kubernetes and Helm charts for application deployments and configuration management.  
  • Familiarity with Azure cloud services, including AKS, Storage Accounts, Key Vaults, and related services.  
  • Ability to use Azure Pipelines, Azure DevOps, and Git to support development workflows, code management, task tracking, and deployment coordination.  
  • Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum development practices.  
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, collaboration, and communication skills.  
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced client environment.  

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Familiarity with Ant Design, React Query, and Zustand.  
  • Background supporting federal civilian clients.  
  • Familiarity with enterprise application modernization or cloud-based application development.  
  • Exposure to accessibility standards and UI testing practices.  
  • Prior support for proposal, recompete, or contingent award efforts.
