Job description

Shift: 10:30am-7pm
Position Summary:
Maintains continuity of patient flow within the Imaging Services departments. Greets and communicates with patients, visitors and hospital personnel by telephone, intercom or in person, in a polite and professional manner. Performs other clerical duties as required. Assists technologists as needed.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
1. Works with Central Scheduling to provide appropriate coordination for patient appointment
2. Conveys department schedules to the appropriate personnel
3. Receives patients/visitors and notifies the appropriate department
4. Assists departments with administration of contrast
5. Answers any patient questions and provides directions when needed
6. Ensures that the correct physician and patient orders are received, placed on the ordering system, scanned into medical records, and given to the appropriate personnel
7. Answers the telephone, takes messages, and convey messages to appropriate persons/department
8. Assists with monitoring department patients as needed
9. Performs any pre-procedure interviews, verifying exam time with the patient in coordination with departments.
10. Prepares CD creation or upload of CD within the imaging departments.
11. Assists in the investigation and resolution of billing issue
12. Performs other department related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Required:
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum 6 months previous clerical or customer service experience
Preferred:
• 6 months to 1 year of data entry and medical clerical experience
