Description
U.S. Soccer Overview
The U.S. Soccer Federation exists in service to soccer. Our aim is to ignite a national passion for the game. Because we believe that soccer is more than a sport; it is a force for good.
We understand the importance and the power of teamwork, on and off the pitch. That is why we work closely with our Federation partners and members, to inspire, support and guide every level of the game: from the grassroots to the National Teams. We want to bring soccer into every home and every community, right across America. Because we believe that soccer can transform lives like no other sport. Soccer can represent the best of U.S.
U.S. Soccer is in a period of significant growth, with ambitious plans for U.S. Soccer in the near and far future. We are, therefore, looking for dynamic servant leaders to join us on this journey: in service to soccer. Applicants must be able to demonstrate visionary leadership, analytical decision-making, professional flexibility, and an empathic management style that builds bold teams and delivers globally significant results.
Position Description
U.S. Soccer is seeking an experienced producer and audio/video storyteller to lead the day-to-day editorial, production and distribution of the U.S. Soccer Podcast. The Podcast Producer will create compelling conversations and original segments that bring fans closer to the people, stories and moments shaping soccer in the United States, from the Senior National Teams to the broader Federation ecosystem.
This role will own the full podcast lifecycle, from editorial planning and guest development through recording, editing, publishing, audience growth and performance reporting. The producer will create programming and integrated segments that support U.S. Soccer's commercial, marketing and membership priorities while maintaining the editorial quality, authenticity and credibility of the show.
The Podcast Producer will build adaptable, repeatable production playbooks for international camps, tournaments, match days and other major Federation moments. They will help create a year-round content engine that keeps soccer fans engaged through an audience-led approach and close collaboration with Editorial, Social Media, Video, Partnerships Marketing and other stakeholders across the organization.
We are seeking a relationship-driven producer with the ability to collaborate, communicate and build trust with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders. Travel to team events, camps and matches will be required as needed.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Own the editorial development of the U.S. Soccer Podcast, including episode concepts, guest strategy, run of show, interview preparation, segment development and post-production storytelling.
  • Produce each episode as a multi-platform content package, including full-length audio and video episodes, short-form social clips, promotional assets, episode titles, descriptions, thumbnails and publishing metadata.
  • Produce live and live-to-tape podcast programming around matches, camps, tournaments and major Federation moments, including technical planning, guest coordination, run of show and real-time editorial decision-making.
  • Develop scalable production workflows for studio, remote, on-location and live podcast environments.
  • Build, organize and manage the podcast content calendar, including episode planning, campaign integration and release schedules, in collaboration with stakeholders throughout the organization.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to develop episode topics and interview outlines that align with U.S. Soccer's brand, editorial standards and messaging.
  • Build trusted relationships with athletes, coaches, technical staff, communications teams, external guests and other stakeholders to secure meaningful access and produce thoughtful, well-prepared conversations.
  • Exercise sound editorial judgment and discretion when working with confidential, sensitive or embargoed information.
  • Partner with Editorial, Social Media, Video, Post-Production and Marketing teams to identify and deliver high-impact clips, promotional assets and supporting content around each episode.
  • Develop and execute audience-growth and distribution strategies across podcast platforms, YouTube, social media and other relevant channels.
  • Establish and report against podcast KPIs, including audience growth, listens and views, watch time, completion rate, subscriber growth, social engagement, Insiders conversion and commercial deliverables.
  • Use audience insights and performance data to refine editorial strategy, publishing cadence, distribution and promotional tactics.
  • Collaborate with Partnerships Marketing on the ideation and development of integrated segments and branded content, ensuring all deliverables meet partner objectives while preserving the authenticity and audience value of the show.
  • Coordinate podcast production logistics, including equipment, studio needs, remote-recording workflows, vendors, freelancers and production budgets, as applicable.
  • Stay current on podcast, YouTube, social video and audience-development trends, applying new formats, platform features and distribution tactics where they can strengthen the show.

Requirements

  • Strong command of Adobe Creative Cloud, including Adobe Audition and Premiere Pro, or comparable audio/video production tools.
  • Proficient experience with Microsoft Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook).
  • Experience with podcast hosting, publishing and analytics platforms.
  • Strong writing, scripting and interview-preparation skills, with the ability to craft compelling narratives and conversations.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, shifting priorities and fast-turn deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational, communication and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders, including talent, communications teams, partners and vendors.
  • Passion for soccer and an understanding of the U.S. sports and soccer ecosystem.
  • Ability and willingness to travel and work non-traditional hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
  • When not traveling, ability to work from U.S. Soccer's headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia.
