Job description

As a Principal Game Designer at RBKS AI (Ring, Blink, Key, Sidewalk), you will own the design vision for a new, innovative experience that brings AI-powered interactivity and engagement to Ring customers. Working alongside a focused team of product managers, engineers, and scientists, you will conceive and ship entirely new ways for customers to interact with their home security products - making the Ring app and devices easier, smarter, and more delightful to use every day.
We are looking for an entrepreneurial, inventive designer who thrives at the intersection of game design and AI-driven product experiences. You bring deep craft, high judgment, and the ability to inspire a cross-functional team around a bold creative vision

The ideal candidate is energized by ambiguity, passionate about designing for mass-market audiences, and excited to apply game design thinking to real-world home security and safety contexts.
Key job responsibilities
- Lead the definition, design, and delivery of innovative AI-powered interactive experiences within the Ring app and connected device ecosystem
- Design core engagement loops, onboarding journeys, and habit-forming interaction patterns that make Ring products more intuitive and rewarding for everyday customers
- Collaborate with applied science and engineering teams to integrate player-facing AI features - personalization, adaptive content, and intelligent context-aware interactions - into the product experience
- Lead design sprints, prototype reviews, and rapid iteration cycles; use qualitative research and quantitative signals to validate and continuously refine experiences
- Develop high-quality design documentation - concept papers, systems designs, interaction flows, and feature specs - that serve as the source of truth for cross-functional teams
- Create buy-in for the design vision both internally and with key partner organizations; champion the customer perspective across product, engineering, marketing, and operations
- Anticipate bottlenecks, manage trade-offs between customer experience and technical constraints, and keep complex initiatives on track
- Proactively identify and resolve strategic or creative blockers that may impair the team's ability to meet its vision, schedule, or quality goals
- Mentor and elevate design craft across the team; help establish best practices for AI-driven interactive design at Amazon
