Job Summary: Weโre looking for someone who understands the cattle and beef businessโor is eager to learn itโand can help us tell the story of how the Beef Checkoff is working for producers and importers who invest in it.
This role supports the national Producer Communications program by helping deliver clear, consistent, and timely communication back to the people who fund the Checkoff. That includes everything from newsletters and emails to social media and day-to-day communication with State Beef Councils.
The right person is a strong communicator, highly organized, and comfortable working in a fast-moving environment where accuracy and credibility matter.

Consistently deliver original, accurate and curated copy in a deadline-driven environment. Strategic visionary with a great understanding of how to author and position audience-relevant content that holds the readerโs attention.
Job Requirements:
Education, Licensure, Certifications
- Bachelorโs degree in journalism, communications or similar
- 4-6 years of experience in communications, agriculture, or a related field
- Familiarity with the cattle/beef industry or agriculture preferred
- Strong writing skills, with ability to adapt to a โproducer voiceโ
Technical Proficiencies
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Comfortable managing multiple projects and deadlines
- Proficient with MS Office 365 Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and curation.
- Skilled in PDF creation and manipulation
- Experience with digital communications (email, social, analytics tools, A.I. platforms)
Business Skills
Program Coordination
- Coordinate timelines and deliverables across projects
- Work closely with State Beef Councils and national partners
- Support agency coordination and project execution
- Help ensure consistency across all producer communications
General
- Maintain and ensure usage of Style Guide for all CBB communications to ensure consistency
- Respond to inquiries, both by phone and email
- Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously

Job Responsibilities:
Content & Communications
- Draft and support production of The Drive newsletter (print and email)
- Develop producer-focused content for email, web, and social channels
- Help translate complex Checkoff topics into clear, relatable messaging
- Assist with producer-facing materials, talking points, and toolkits
Channel Management
- Support day-to-day execution of social media and email communications
- Maintain content calendars and publishing schedules
- Monitor engagement and flag trends or concerns
Producer Listening & Insights
- Support execution and analysis of the Producer Content Survey (PCS)
- Monitor feedback from producers, State Beef Councils, and digital channels
- Track emerging issues, misinformation, or sentiment trends
- Provide regular summaries of insights to inform strategy
General
- Understand the target audience(s) and proper voice for various content/materials
- Create and collaborate with Checkoff contractors for content
- Draft business correspondence to Board members answering direct inquiries or requests
- Edit organizational reports and collateral
- Write scripts and create presentation materials (PowerPoints) for CEO, executive-level staff, and CBB officers/members for presentations to large and small producer audiences, including national conferences and state or local meetings
- Support Qualified State Beef Councils with producer communications efforts
- Perform other relevant duties as assigned or required

About the Organization: The Cattlemen's Beef Promotion and Research Board (referred to as the โCattlemen's Beef Boardโ or โCBBโ), is a beef producer and importer-funded national checkoff organization that was established as part of the 1985 Farm Bill. CBB currently consists of 99 Board members, representing domestic beef, dairy, and veal producers and importers of beef and beef products, as well as an office staff of nine employees, who conduct the day-to-day operations of the Board.
