This INTELLIGENCE OPERATIONS SPECIALIST position, is located in the Imagery Intelligence (IMINT) Exploitation Section at an Air National Guard (ANG) Intelligence unit and is part of the CA 234 IS.

THIS IS A T32 EXCEPTED SERVICE, PERMANENT POSITION.
The primary purpose of the INTELLIGENCE OPERATIONS SPECIALIST, GS-0132-9/11, is to perform specialized IMINT duties as a Distributed Ground Station (DGS) crew member and to train assigned military unit members in the duties and functions associated with IMINT Tasking, Processing, Exploitation, and Dissemination (TPED). Provides real-time IMINT TPED support to National Agencies, Joint Commands, Air Force Major Commands (MAJCOMs), Air Operations Centers (AOCs), and US and coalition airborne assets in exercises and contingency operations. Ensures real-time and near-real-time IMINT reporting and analysis is timely and accurate.
May make additional selections within 90 days of eligible(s) issuance.

(Applicants who are currently in other Air/Army branches and NOT currently a member of the California National Guard (CNG) must become a member of a compatible unit of assignment within the Air Force CNG commensurate with the military grade listed in this announcement prior to federal assignment).

Qualifications
General Experience: Possess experience, education, or training which demonstrates administrative, professional, investigative, or technical work requiring the ability to deal effectively with others, to collect, evaluate and organize pertinent facts; Experience preparing clear and concise written reports.
INTELLIGENCE OPERATIONS SPECIALIST, GS-0132-09 (Trainee): Must have at least one year of specialized experience, equivalent to at least the GS-07 level, in: performing functions involving various intelligence systems and organizations; Experience reviewing and analyzing data including technical reports, surveys, and studies; Experience preparing and conducting training plans and programs, both formal and on-the-job.
INTELLIGENCE OPERATIONS SPECIALIST, GS-0132-11: Musthave at least one year of specialized experience, equivalent to at least the GS-09 level, in: developing and recommending policy, organizing and carrying out specific programs, evaluating and recommending changes in methods of intelligence operations; Experience in administrative, investigative, or technical work which required the applicant to deal effectively with others; Experience collecting, evaluating and organizing pertinent facts and to analyze and prepare clear and concise reports.
TRAINEE POSITION: Applicants not meeting full qualifications for the GS-11 position indicated above may be considered for GS-09 trainee, if qualified. Statement-of-Difference of qualification requirements for each are indicated. If appointed as trainee, the selectee may be non-competitively promoted to GS-11 upon meeting full qualifications and recommendations of supervisor.

Substitution of Education for Specialized Experience:
GS-09 (Trainee):
Have a master's or equivalent graduate degree OR 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree that demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work required.

Have a combination of education and experience. Only graduate education in excess of the amount required above may be used.
GS-11: Have a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree OR 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree that demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work required.

As a condition of employment, new appointees are required to serve a trial period. Individuals who are initially appointed to a permanent or indefinite position in the CMD must complete a one (1) or two (2) year trial period subject to appointment type (DSMT or T5) and veteran's preference. Trial periods for federal excepted service employees are established under 5 CFR Chapter I, Subchapter A-Part 11.
