Job Description:

The Data, Tools, and Transformation department of the Space & Mission Systems (SMS) Segment is seeking a Senior Manager, Business Intelligence, to lead our business intelligence team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in business intelligence tools, reporting and dashboard development, data visualization, and team leadership. This role is responsible for driving the strategy and execution of BI initiatives that support business goals and deliver timely, accurate, and actionable insights for business leaders, managers, and executives. Recognized as an internal expert and thought leader in their area of expertise with broad experience across multiple job areas. Work under consultative direction against annual goals to manage large, complex project initiatives of strategic importance to the organization. Communicate within and outside of the organization to influence leadership to accept new practices, approaches, and concepts. Develop or champion new systems, concepts, or technologies. Recommend tactics and strategies that directly impact the achievement of overall business or functional results.

Essential Functions:

Lead and manage a team of data analysts and BI professionals
Develop and execute the segment's business intelligence reporting and analytics strategy in alignment with organizational goals
Oversee the design, development, implementation, and sustainment of dashboards, scorecards, and reporting solutions
Establish and implement best practices for BI solution development, including design, usability, performance, publishing, and lifecycle management
Drive data governance and ensure data quality and integrity
Partner with business leaders and cross-functional teams to define reporting needs, KPIs, and metrics, and translate business needs into scalable BI solutions
Collaborate with data architecture, data engineering, and IT teams to define data requirements, identify data gaps, and support prioritization of new data sources and integration needs
Drive adoption and effective use of BI tools and solutions through stakeholder engagement, training, communication, and support
Monitor reporting portfolio health, including usage, performance, enhancement opportunities, and business value
Communicate complex data insights effectively to non-technical stakeholders
Stay current with industry trends, tools, and best practices in business intelligence and analytics
Prepare and deliver presentations and updates to executive leadership and cross-functional stakeholders

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 12 years of prior relevant experience; Or, Graduate degree and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience; Or, in lieu of a degree, a minimum of 16 years of prior related experience
10 plus years of experience in business intelligence, business analytics, or data analysis roles
7 plus years of experience in a managerial or leadership role within a business intelligence, analytics, or reporting team

Preferred Additional Skills:

Experience developing and executing data strategies that support business objectives
Success leading and delivering complex analytical, reporting, or dashboard initiatives
Extensive experience with business intelligence and data visualization platforms with strong preference for Microsoft Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service
Strong experience defining KPIs, metrics, scorecards, and executive reporting solutions
Experience gathering business requirements and translating them into reporting, dashboard, and analytics solutions
Strong understanding of relational data structures, SQL, and data validation concepts
Experience partnering with data architecture, data engineering, or IT teams to define data sourcing and integration requirements
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders
Strong presentation skills; comfortable presenting to senior management and executive leadership
Experience with Palantir Foundry
Experience with statistical analysis, predictive modeling, and machine learning techniques

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in California, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Washington, and the Greater D.C. area, Denver, or NYC areas is $139,500-$259,500. The salary range for this role in Colorado state, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New York state, Cleveland Ohio, Vermont, and Virginia is $121,500-$225,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements.
