The Houston Texans are in a season of growth and are seeking an individual for the position of Business Intelligence Intern.

Basic Function: Support the efforts of the Business Analytics and Technology Department while delivering analytical and database management support to key business units throughout the Houston Texans organization, Lone Star Sports and Entertainment (LSSE) and LOVB.
Job Function (Duties & Responsibilities):
  • Support business units across the Houston Texans, LSSE, and LOVB by providing timely analytical reporting and data management assistance as needed.
  • Develop and maintain recurring daily/weekly/monthly analytical analyses in support of Ticketing, Marketing, Digital, Social, and Corporate Partnership objectives, by completing tasks related to:
    • Creation and maintenance of Tableau reporting
    • Preparing survey analyses and insights summaries
    • Secondary ticket market price monitoring, reporting, and analysis
    • Assisting with fan profiling, customer segmentation, and additional consumer data capture methods
    • Conducting and compiling research using third-party tools and presenting findings to internal stakeholders
  • Participate in various research projects as assigned
  • Perform data entry, validation, and maintenance tasks as needed
  • Execute and distribute daily and weekly reports to various stakeholders
  • Assist Club and Club staff in a professional manner on all Texans gamedays, LSSE Events, LOVB Volleyball Houston events and duties within the Business operations offices
  • Perform various other duties that may be assigned from time to time by the SVP of Business Analytics and Insights and Senior Business Intelligence Manager

Subject to reasonable accommodations, position requires routine face-to-face personal interaction with other Club personnel; therefore, many job responsibilities must be physically performed in the Club's offices on a regular basis and not in a telecommuting manner.
Skills Required:
  • Analysis, data quality and data management experience strongly preferred.
  • Customer service and/or sales background a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Effective verbal, written and interpersonal communications.
  • Ability to maintain attention to detail and to produce high-quality work in accordance with directions given.
  • Ability to maintain confidential and/or proprietary information.
  • Display strong interpersonal skills and the ability to create and maintain solid working relationships.

Education/Experience:
  • Completion of, or in pursuit of, a bachelor's degree from a four-year accredited university with a focus of Business Analytics, Information Systems, Sports Management, or Computer Science preferred.
  • High School Diploma required.
  • Prior experience/knowledge in Excel required.
  • Prior experience/knowledge in Tableau and SQL strongly preferred.
