What is Intel Sustainability?

Intel Sustainability refers to the company's initiatives, strategies, and commitments to minimizing its environmental impact and promoting responsible business practices. This includes efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, use renewable energy, conserve water, and design products that are more energy efficient. Intel has set ambitious sustainability goals, such as achieving net positive water use, zero waste to landfill, and 100% renewable energy at its global operations. The company also works with suppliers and partners to improve sustainability across the technology industry. These efforts are detailed in Intel's annual Corporate Responsibility Report.

What are the typical day-to-day responsibilities for someone working in Intel's Sustainability team?

Professionals in Intel's Sustainability team are generally responsible for developing and implementing environmental initiatives, monitoring key sustainability metrics, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. Daily tasks often include collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive energy efficiency projects, preparing sustainability reports, and engaging with external partners or stakeholders on environmental goals. The role may also involve analyzing data to track progress toward Intel's sustainability targets and identifying new opportunities to minimize environmental impact. This position requires strong project management skills and the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical colleagues.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in an Intel Sustainability role, and why are they important?

To excel in an Intel Sustainability role, you typically need a background in environmental science, engineering, or a related field, along with knowledge of sustainability frameworks and corporate responsibility. Familiarity with data analysis tools, sustainability reporting platforms (such as GRI or CDP), and environmental management systems (like ISO 14001) is often required. Strong project management, stakeholder engagement, and communication skills make candidates stand out. These competencies are vital for effectively advancing Intel’s sustainability initiatives, ensuring compliance, and driving positive environmental impact.
