The Role and Impact

As a Software Solutions Engineering PhD Intern, you will contribute to the development of integrated software solutions tailored to customer and platform needs. Your work will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams to combine system-level understanding with application development, enabling scalable and optimized solutions. You will also build essential skills and explore future career opportunities through hands-on experience and impactful projects that align with Intel's business goals.

The Intel Foundry team is dedicated to driving innovation and delivering cutting-edge solutions to meet customer and platform requirements. This group focuses on enabling Intel's mission of creating world-changing technology, contributing to advancements in hardware, firmware, and software engineering. Joining this team means becoming part of a collaborative and forward-thinking environment that supports Intel's vision and fosters your professional growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop integrated software solutions by combining system-level understanding with application development.
  • Assist in solution architecture design, feature prototyping, and performance analysis for diverse workloads and environments.
  • Collaborate with hardware, firmware, and customer engineering teams to deliver scalable and optimized solutions.
  • Refactor, consolidate, and standardize yield reports.
  • Develop frameworks to optimize interconnectivity and report consolidation, enabling developer collaboration.
  • Create design UI style guidelines and assets for reporting tools.
  • Explore new analytic capabilities to provide additional impact on software and system performance.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be pursuing a PhD in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Strong computational capabilities and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Python and SQL for programming, analytics, and reporting.
  • Basic understanding of semiconductor defect analysis workflows.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with PDF Extension is a plus but not required.
  • Knowledge of JSL and Power BI for programming, analytics, and reporting.
  • Familiarity with industry trends or prior exposure to analytic tools is advantageous.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, with a focus on collaboration across disciplines.
  • Enthusiasm for learning and applying new concepts in a fast-paced and innovative environment.
