Project Manager

Position Summary (major areas of contribution):

Responsible for providing the day-to-day communication in handling all phases of our customer’s national identification programs including working closely with the customer corporate contacts in sales and operations. Position requires working with deadlines, strong communication skills, ability to multi-task and proficiency in MS Office programs. Problem solving abilities are crucial and applicants must be able to function in a fast-paced, detailed-oriented environment. The project manager is responsible for promoting and maintaining good customer relations, promoting customer satisfaction, and driving the business within their account(s). This position is the primary day-to-day contact and guardian for their assigned account(s), and as such, must take ownership in the overall ability of the company to “delight the customer”. The successful candidate will report directly to the Director of Project Management.

Essential Functions / Job Responsibilities:

Managing the timely product shipments and hitting on-time performance goals set by the customer and Sign Resource. Ability to manage a project from survey through quoting the customer, providing product artwork, ordering product, tracking product through the shop and ensuring the invoicing of the customer once product ships. Directs and coordinates activities to ensure project progresses on schedule, within prescribed budget and meeting customer expectations.

  • Forecasting anticipated projects each month.
  • Coordinate with external and internal customers and corporate staff as required in relation to getting product where it needs to go in the agreed upon timeframe.
  • Assists in resolving problems and disputes in quality, schedule, and financial issues.
  • Proactively communicating status of the project (and any issues) to the customer. Including, but not limited to status reports.
  • On-Time shipments: Drives the product shipments to beat our customers desired completion date.
  • Monitors and expedites meeting or beating customer-driven completion dates - we cannot miss a store opening.
  • Driving full completion of our projects by submitting all documents needed to complete invoicing.
  • Helping drive customer scorecards, with our on-time performance and superior customer service.
  • Will address and resolve customer complaints and concerns, involving appropriate departments, as required, for resolution.
  • Complete special projects as assigned by upper management.
  • Manage account specific margin improvement plan to company set goals.
  • Assists in providing training and guidance for project coordinators.

Minimum Qualifications / Skills:

  • Must possess strong communication and problem-solving skills and have the ability to operate independently.
  • Team oriented with strong organizational skills, have the ability to multitask and prioritize projects.
  • Proficiency with PC, Excel, Word, and MS Office software.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and written.
  • Requires solid interpersonal customer service skills with a proactive approach at handling projects.
  • Must have a proactive approach to managing projects and refining processes.
  • High energy level and hands-on orientation with a very high level of detail.

Experience (type and amount of experience required):

  • At least 3 years of verifiable project management experience in the signage and/or construction industries.
  • The position requires travel as necessary to provide customer satisfaction and develop strong customer relationships.
  • PMP Certification preferred.

Requirements:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee will prolong periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer, is occasionally required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift or move office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds.
