Position Summary

The Field Cabinet Finisher delivers the final, polished result customers expect from Tharp Custom Cabinetry by completing on-site finish repair, restoration, and touch-up work after cabinet installation. Working independently and traveling to job sites as dispatched, this role resolves punch list items, addresses imperfections identified by customers or the installation team, and provides hands-on solutions using spray equipment, stain- and color-matching techniques, and general woodworking skills.

Requirements

Duties/ Responsibilities:

  • Provide on-site cabinet finishing work for post-cabinet installation.
  • Fix problems using general woodworking skills
  • Project Management to complete punch lists.
  • Work with contractors and customers to understand issues
  • Produce timely and detailed service reports utilizing provided reporting tools.
  • Operate vehicle in a safe manner
  • Fix problems using finish restoration and touch-up skills
  • Clean and maintain vehicle
  • Build positive relationships with customers.
  • Provide solutions to problems presented at the field installation site
  • Maintain a safe and quality-based effort for any products that are processed.
  • Develop skills and proficiency at assigned tasks.
  • Process work in a timely, quality-focused manner.
  • Display a basic understanding of the information contained in the cabinet layout drawings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Familiarity with different types of wood, stains, paints, varnishes, and tools used for finishing
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and standards to ensure a safe working environment
  • Understanding of various finishing techniques
  • Ability to notice and correct imperfections
  • Skills in mixing and matching colors to achieve the desired finish
  • Efficiency in managing time to complete tasks within deadlines
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members
  • Ability to work well within a team to achieve common goals
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of quality in all work
  • Valid driver's license and a safe driving record, with the ability to travel to field/job sites as dispatched
  • Ability to work independently and manage a daily route with minimal supervision while representing the company professionally on-site
