Experienced Mission Systems Integration Engineer (Systems Engineer)

Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) has a great opportunity for an Experienced Mission Systems Integration Engineer (Systems Engineer) (Level 3) to support the B-52J Commercial Engine Replacement Program (CERP) in Oklahoma City, OK.
This position will provide Mission Systems Engineering integration leadership and coordination for the CERP Avionics Subsystem in the development of plans, procedures, and subsystem level testing. The position will coordinate between the Avionics Hardware, Operational Load Set software, Labs, and other teams as needed to ensure the Avionics subsystem successfully executes lab integration tests with results documented in test reports. The preferred candidate will have experience as an equipment manager, in requirements verification, use of DOORS, airworthiness certification, lab instrumentation expertise, supporting lab I&CO and verification testing.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Applies an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to plan, design, develop and verify a lifecycle balanced system of systems and system solutions
  • Evaluates customer and operational needs to define and coordinate system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters and assure compatibility of all physical, functional and program interfaces

  • Performs various analyses to optimize total system of systems and/or system architecture
  • Performs analyses for affordability, safety, reliability, maintainability, testability, human systems integration, security, product assurance and other specialties quality factors into a preferred configuration to ensure mission success
  • Develops, maintains and identifies improvements for the planning, organization, implementation and monitoring of requirements management processes, tools, risk, issues, opportunity management and technology readiness assessment processes.
  • Resolves cross-functional technical issues

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
  • 5 or more years of engineering experience
  • 1 or more years of airworthiness certification experience
  • 1 or more years of requirements verification experience
  • Experience working with cross functional teams
  • Demonstrates critical thinking, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Experience developing and maintaining relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • 3 or more years of experience in engineering project planning or project management
  • 2 or more years of experience leading a team or a project
  • Experience in all stages of development including generating technical documentation, system design and development, integration of systems development, structured analysis and design methodologies, integration and test/verification
  • Experience using Microsoft Teams, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel
