Job description

Amentum is seeking a Systems Engineering Integration Team (SEIT) Senior Manager to support the Space Force Range Contract (SFRC).

Essential Functions

  • Manage, mentor, and scale a high-performing, multidisciplinary team of systems engineers.
  • Ensure appropriate staffing, workload balance, and resource allocation to meet program objectives.
  • Foster a collaborative, mission-focused culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and technical excellence.
  • Lead the team providing end-to-end support to integrate new or modified systems developed by TPDs into the LTRS baseline.
  • Align integration activities with diverse TPD development approaches (including Waterfall, Agile, and hybrid methodologies).
  • Ensure all integration, interoperability, and capability modifications comply with rigorous Cybersecurity principles, with an emphasis on LTRS boundary defense.
  • Coordinate the delivery of LTRS domain expertise and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to Technical Interchange Meetings (TIMs), document reviews, requirements development, and configuration/data management (CM/DM) baseline.
  • Direct support for developmental and integrated testing, including launch-program end-to-end data transport testing and OD-12As at the Eastern Range (ER).
  • Assess TPD projects, schedules, and deliverables to identify integration impacts, disconnects, and potential risks to range capabilities, providing actionable recovery recommendations to the Government.
  • Track inter-project overlaps and risks, coordinating with project Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) to resolve and deconflict issues in an integrated manner.
  • Facilitate and contribute to LTRS program Integrated Test Team (ITT) meetings, ensuring all projects are addressed in the Range Test Determination Process (RTDP).
  • Control and manage changes in LTRS requirements, specifications, configuration, or architecture documentation during TPD execution to prevent degradation of operational capabilities or negative impacts on adjacent subsystems.
  • Lead the systems engineering support for formal TPD project reviews, including scrums, backlog planning, system demos, Requirements Reviews (RRs), Conceptual/Preliminary/Critical Design Reviews (PDR/CDR), Pre-ship ILS Documentation Reviews, Installation Readiness Reviews (IRRs), FCA/PCA, and IOC/FOC Reviews.
  • Partner with TPDs to establish and evaluate entrance/exit criteria, assess technical documentation for transition risks, coordinate collective reviews, and manage action items/liens to closure.
  • Coordinate and provision communication services requested by TPDs to interface new/modified systems with the LTRS, including COMSEC equipment setup when required.
  • Lead the development and execution of formal Transition to Operations Plans (CDRL A079), detailing systems engineering concerns, cyber vulnerabilities, and resource requirements across government agencies.
  • Establish and gain stakeholder agreement on IOC, FOC, transition, and turnover criteria during the initial stages of modernization projects.
  • Ensure that all manuals, procedures, cyber artifacts, and data products are updated to reflect current Range configurations as assets are upgraded, modified, or divested.

Required Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in systems engineering, aerospace engineering, electrical engineering, or a closely related STEM discipline. Master's degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of professional progressive experience in Systems Engineering.
  • Strong background in Department of Defense (DoD), aerospace, or Space Lift Range operations. Direct experience working within the Launch and Test Range System (LTRS) architecture and with Space Launch Delta (SLD) 45 or 30 preferred.
  • Proven track record of directly managing, mentoring, and scaling large technical teams in complex, fast-paced, and operational environments.
  • Demonstrated experience managing system-of-systems integration, tracking interface dependencies, and handling technical handoffs between external developers and operational baselines. Experience with DoD acquisition processes, sustainment lifecycles, and the unique challenges of modernizing "system of systems" architecture without disrupting ongoing operations.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain an active DoD Secret Security Clearance.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid U.S. Driver's License.
  • Willingness and flexibility to work occasional non-duty hours, shift work, or weekends to support critical launch windows and mission requirements.
