Job description

Fibertek, Inc. is a leading developer of laser and electro-optic systems for the aerospace community, with key contributions to lasers for atmospheric sensing, laser communications, and lidar sensors for NASA, DoD, and other aerospace customers. We are looking for a highly motivated individual to join our Research and Development Division in Herndon, Virginia.

As the Systems Integrator / Test Engineer, you will lead the planning and execution of integration and test of complex spaceflight lasers and electro-optical systems. While most of the work will be hands-on, you will also be responsible for coordinating and supporting design efforts; defining test requirements; and generating component, assembly, and system level test documentation. This will require you to apply knowledge of mechanical, electrical, fluid, and power systems to solve the wide variety of technical problems inherent in the testing of complex hardware systems.

You will need strong communication skills to coordinate across multidisciplinary engineering teams to lead the critical flight integration and test efforts. Essential Job Duties: Develop test processes, test equipment designs, test configuration set-ups and systems integration using proven methodologies and techniques Design deliverable hardware, as well as ground support and special test equipment Requirements management and traceability to system verification and validationExperience and Expertise Required: Experience in Systems Engineering and/or other engineering disciplines with an emphasis on test requirements development, test planning, test documentation, and systems integration, verification, and validation. Experience developing and/or managing system requirements.

Experience with spaceflight, electro-optic hardware integration is a plus. U.S. citizenship is required

Hold or can acquire a Secret Clearance preferred A minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience Bachelor's Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM), with a Master's Degree in engineering preferred.Experience and Expertise Required: Experience in Systems Engineering and/or other engineering disciplines with an emphasis on test requirements development, test planning, test documentation, and systems integration, verification, and validation.
