TECHNICIAN RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Installation, service and maintenance of high-end access control, video management and intrusion surveillance systems.
  • Installs, tests, and troubleshoots new CCTV, access control, and security systems.
  • Ensures that systems are installed properly and on time in accordance with P.A.C.E.'s procedures and quality control standards.
  • Provides feedback and information to identify any potential barriers to timely execution of the project, such as construction delays or changes.
  • Communicates with Managers and/or Project Manager to resolve discrepancies or issues.
  • Provides regular progress updates to all stakeholders.
  • Provides accurate documentation for completed work.
  • Responsible for providing proper documentation for inventory control and for maintaining proper inventory for vehicles and projects. Must be available to perform end of year and interim inventory counts.
  • Maintains assigned company-owned vehicles, tools, equipment, and individual tools issued.
  • Assume responsibility for assigned tools, and test equipment.
  • Communicates with customers, customer representatives, contractors, and P.A.C.E. staff as necessary to install and test equipment.
  • Stays up to date and knowledgeable in P.A.C.E. services, technology as well as internal processes and procedures.

EDUCATION AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
  • High school diploma, plus vocational training or equivalent.
  • Must have an electrical background and knowledge of electrical materials.
  • Must have successful experience with complex system installations.
  • Must be able to work independently, as well as within a team.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with an ability to establish priorities and proceed with objectives with little supervision.

EXPERIENCE:
  • 2+ years of successful experience installing access control, video systems or other related electronic systems.
  • Understanding of job safety practices.
  • Strong electronics knowledge/background (AC/DC theory, series and parallel circuits, open/close loops) and ability and knowledge to use digital volt meters.
  • Knowledge of door hardware, electric and mechanical locking devices and building codes.
  • Mechanical aptitude and thorough knowledge of hand and power tools.
  • Basic knowledge of IP, Ethernet, and networking protocol and Cat5 technologies.

SYSTEMS RELATED KNOWLEDGE: (preferred, but not required)
  • SoftwareHouse, AMAG, Continental, Brivo.
  • Familiarity with Matrix Switches, Multiplexers and DVR’s.
  • Network video experience.
  • Relay logic.
  • Familiar with electric lock hardware installation and servicing.

LICENSING REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must be willing to participate in and pass the company’s pre-employment screening process including a background investigation and drug screening.
  • Must continue to maintain a safe driving record and valid driver’s license to fulfill the travel requirements of this position.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Lift and carry up to 75 pounds.
  • Climb stairs and ladders while carrying weight.
  • Use color vision to distinguish colored wires, signals, other lighting devices.
  • Use and manipulate hand tools, small power tools, communication, and diagnostic devices.
