Associate Director of Marketing โ€“ Regulatory

Hybrid Schedule Philosophy: The default schedule is hybrid with some inโ€‘office presence and some work from home days, except for roles requiring five days/week inโ€‘office.

Position Summary

Under the supervision of the Director of Marketing (Litigation), the Associate Director leads marketing and client development activities for assigned practice group(s) within the Business or Litigation departments. The role drives revenue through brand building, client retention, growth, and new business opportunities, working closely with practice group leaders and partners.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute marketing and business development plans for assigned practice group(s)/industries/verticals in conjunction with Directors and partners.
  • Serve as a thought leader on marketing best practices to build brand, aid client development, and create new business opportunities.
  • Collaborate within and across marketing, practice groups, and stakeholders on practiceโ€‘specific strategies, initiatives, projects, and client development opportunities.
  • Provide leadership of the marketing budget for assigned practice group(s), guiding strategy in budget deployment to maximize brand and client development outcomes.
  • Act as the marketing liaison for lateral partner integration, accelerating onboarding and integration.
  • Implement service excellence standards in communications, interactions, and delivery of marketing support.
  • Take ownership of all litigation department marketing activities for assigned practice group(s) and related practiceโ€‘group members.
  • Create annual budgets and marketing plans with Practice Group Leaders, managing to achieve goals within budgetary guidelines.
  • Lead assigned marketing staff in executing marketing plan priorities, projects, events, and adhoc requests.
  • Develop leading marketing materials, including qualifications, pitch decks, matter and experience lists, website content, and related materials.
  • Oversee execution of winning responses to formal RFP/RFIs with the Pitch & Proposal team.
  • Execute firmโ€‘sponsored and industry participation events, sponsorships, client dinners, and related activities.
  • Lead, with stakeholders, strategy development and execution of directory and awards submissions.
  • Drive development and execution of thought leadershipโ€”speaking engagements, webinars, blogs, whitepapers, and related contentโ€”as part of the marketing plan.
  • Monitor clients, industry trends, and business climate, championing initiatives to create institutional clients through crossโ€‘sell of existing services.
  • Collaborate with Communications on brand and marketing campaigns on identified topics, services, and offerings and respond to PR/media requests.
  • Advocate for the effective use of firm technologies (CRM, experience management databases, proprietary databases) to support and advance client and business development opportunities.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and mentoring to attorneys and staff, ensuring effective communication and high motivation.
  • Manage staffing coverage, review and process time logs/timeโ€‘off requests, and support professional development and educational opportunities.
  • Participate in hiring, performance appraisals, counseling, and termination processes in collaboration with HR.
Skills and ExperienceRequired
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree.
  • 8+ years of direct applicable experience (sales and/or marketing) with 4 years of management experience (some at senior level preferred).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, iManage, and other firm applications.
  • Ability to work extended and/or weekend hours, and travel as required.
  • Proficient in using CRM tools.
Preferred
  • Advanced degree in a related field and significant prior experience in sales and marketing organizations.
  • Prior experience within a professional services organization and/or law firm.
  • Supervisory experience.

Benefits

Compensation: $225,000 - $275,000 (fullโ€‘time).
