GEICO is seeking a BoatUS Marketing Communications Specialist. This specialist plays a key role in advancing the mission of BoatUS by planning, creating, and executing integrated marketing and communications campaigns that promote BoatUS Membership and their value propositions.

This position is responsible for developing compelling content, managing email marketing campaigns, coordinating social media and digital advertising efforts, and driving engagement across BoatUS's marketing channels. The specialist will work closely with BoatUS Marketing teams.

The ideal candidate is a strong writer, digital marketer, and storyteller who is passionate about using communications to uplift retention and brand awareness.

Essential Responsibilities:

Marketing & Campaign Management

  • Develop and execute integrated marketing campaigns supporting BoatUS programs

  • Assist in the promotion of online boating safety courses, clean water initiatives, life jacket programs, and other Foundation priorities.

  • Coordinate campaign calendars and content schedules across multiple communication channels.

  • Support paid and organic digital marketing efforts, including social media advertising and audience targeting.

  • Monitor campaign performance and recommend optimization strategies.

Content Development

  • Create compelling content for email newsletters, website, social media, videos, partner toolkits, and promotional materials.

  • Ensure communications are consistent with BoatUS branding, voice, and mission.

Email Marketing & Marketing Automation

  • Manage email campaigns from concept through deployment and reporting.

  • Build audience segments and customer journeys within marketing automation platforms.

  • Support newsletters, automated welcome series, course promotion campaigns, donor communications, and partner outreach.

  • Analyze email performance metrics and identify opportunities to increase engagement and conversions.

Social Media & Digital Communications

  • Manage and grow Association social media channels.

  • Develop social content calendars and campaign assets.

  • Monitor trends, audience engagement, and emerging opportunities.

  • Coordinate social media support for national awareness campaigns.

Measurement & Reporting

  • Track marketing and communications performance using analytics tools.

  • Prepare monthly and quarterly reports identifying key trends and campaign results.

  • Monitor metrics including:

    • Email engagement

    • Website traffic

    • Course enrollments

    • Campaign reach

    • Social engagement

    • Digital advertising performance

    • Lead generation and audience growth

Basic Qualifications - Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, Communications, Journalism, or related field.

  • 4-6 years of experience in marketing, communications, digital marketing, or public relations.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Experience managing email marketing campaigns and marketing automation platforms.

  • Experience developing content for multiple channels, including social media and web.

  • Strong project management and organizational skills.

  • Experience using analytics to evaluate campaign performance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Salesforce, CRM systems, and marketing automation tools.

  • Adobe Creative Suite Proficiency

Location: HYBRID - The individual will be required to work onsite 3 days per week
