Job description

Position Overview
We are seeking a compassionate Advanced Care Technician (ACT-Float) to support nursing staff by providing essential patient care and comfort. This role involves assisting patients across various age groups, including infants, pediatric, and adult populations, under the guidance of a Registered Nurse.
Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain a safe and clean environment adhering to unit safety and infection control standards.
  • Offer comfort and assist with daily patient needs, including meal support.
  • Record and communicate vital signs and patient observations such as temperature, pulse, weight, and fluid intake/output.
  • Clean and prepare medical equipment, reporting any issues promptly.
  • Assist with patient transport as needed.
  • Prepare formula in the NICU department when required.
Qualifications
  • ACT: Preferred 3-6 months experience in an acute care setting.
  • ACT-Float: Preferred 1 year of acute care experience.
  • NICU Department: Minimum 2 years CNA experience with strong pediatric background preferred.
  • Basic computer proficiency is required.
  • Ability to read, speak, and follow instructions in English.
  • Familiarity with electronic charting is a plus.
Education
  • Must hold one of the following upon hire:
    • Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) certification
    • Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN)
    • Military Corpsman
    • Nursing student with completed fundamentals including initial assessment and vital signs
Certification
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association required upon hire.
  • Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) certification required within 90 days for specific departments.
  • Completion of at least 10 continuing education hours related to work annually.

All candidates must successfully pass a physical exam, drug screening, and background check prior to employment. This position offers a supportive and collaborative environment in a regional healthcare setting within the Pacific Northwest.
