Washington County Sheriff's Office

Purgatory Correctional Facility
Starting Wage $36.06 to $51.88 Depending on Experience / Full Time with Benefits
Hours: Shifts may include rotations of day and night, including holidays and weekends.

What You'll Do:
As a Registered Nurse with the Washington County Correctional Facility, you will provide professional nursing care to inmates in a secure correctional environment. Responsibilities include:
  • Assessing and treating a wide variety of medical conditions
  • Administering medications safely and accurately
  • Performing health screenings, vital signs, blood draws, and diagnostic testing
  • Responding to medical emergencies
  • Monitoring and managing alcohol and drug withdrawal
  • Coordinating care with physicians, dentists, hospitals, and mental health providers
  • Completing intake medical screenings and maintaining accurate medical documentation
  • Providing patient education and medication counseling
  • Supporting correctional staff while maintaining a safe and secure environment

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Utah
  • No prior nursing experience required
  • At least 21 years of age
  • Valid Utah Driver License
  • Ability to pass an extensive background investigation
