Role Title: Registered Nurse (RN)
Location: Hopewell, NJ 08560
Contract Duration: Two (2) Years
Working Hours: 35 hours per week (ONLY)
Work Type: Onsite (Correctional Facility)
The Registered Nurse (RN) provides direct nursing care to incarcerated individuals. This role supports medical intake, sick call, chronic care, medication administration, and coordination with medical and mental health providers to ensure safe, compliant, and patient-centered healthcare delivery within a correctional environment.
The RN works collaboratively with physicians, nurse practitioners, mental health professionals, custody staff, and County representatives to maintain continuity of care and uphold correctional healthcare standards.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Nursing Care
  • Perform medical intake assessments and ongoing nursing evaluations
  • Conduct sick call assessments and provide nursing interventions
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
  • Monitor and manage chronic medical conditions
  • Respond to medical emergencies and provide triage as required
Care Coordination
  • Collaborate with Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, and Mental Health staff
  • Communicate patient status and changes in condition to providers
  • Assist with continuity of care and follow-up services
Documentation & Compliance
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and complete medical records
  • Ensure compliance with NJ correctional healthcare standards, policies, and procedures

Required Qualifications
Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing)
Licensure: Active and unrestricted New Jersey Registered Nurse (RN) License - Required
Experience
  • Experience providing direct patient care as a Registered Nurse
  • Experience in correctional, institutional, behavioral health, or similar healthcare environments preferred
