Job description

Intake Psychiatric Registered Nurse

Southridge Behavioral Hospital is a beautiful and new state-of-the-art facility. As a joint venture with the Trinity Health System and Universal Health Services, we serve up to 96 adult and geriatric patients across four units. We believe that caring, dedicated and valued staff provide exceptional patient care. We are seeking high caliber applicants that will provide innovative and evidence-based care focused on our patient's individual needs, comfort and safety. Thank you for considering our Intake Psychiatric Registered Nurse position as we continue our successful opening!

The Intake RN, under the supervision of the Intake Director, provides telephonic and in-person risk assessment to assist the physician in identification of appropriate level of care for potential patients. The Intake RN is the initial contact with referral sources and potential patients, coordinates the referral and intake process, facilitates the admission process and maintains communication with referral sources, families, patients, and unit staff. The Intake RN works with the Business Office regarding patient financial data and verification and prior authorization of insurance benefits as needed, as well as with the UR Department for the certification of patients admitted.

We are located on the south side of Grand Rapids, near the intersection of M-6 and Byron Center Ave SW: 6291 Venture Hills Boulevard SW, Byron Center, MI 49315

Job Requirements:

  • Education: Graduate from an accredited professional nursing required.
  • Experience: A minimum of three years' experience in a psychiatric health-care facility preferred.
  • License: Registered Nurse RN license issued by the State of Michigan required.
