Job description

Pre-Litigation Attorney

The Law Offices of Joumana Kayrouz

Southfield, Michigan | On-site | Full-Time

Strong Case Flow | Performance-Based Compensation | Plaintiff Auto Negligence Work

Are you a pre-litigation attorney who wants steady case flow, real responsibility, and compensation tied to the results you help produce?

Do you enjoy working directly with clients, organizing cases, resolving issues before they become delays, and helping personal injury matters move efficiently toward settlement or litigation?

This role is built for attorneys who are proactive, responsive, detail-oriented, and motivated by results. The firm provides substantial case flow, experienced support staff, and strong operational infrastructure so attorneys can focus on managing pre-suit matters instead of marketing, self-promotion, or client acquisition.

This is an opportunity for an attorney who wants stability, growth, strong earning potential, and the ability to build a meaningful career inside an established plaintiff personal injury firm without the burden of building a practice on their own.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Handle pre-litigation automotive personal injury cases from intake through resolution or transition to litigation
  • Identify next steps, resolve routine case issues, and prevent unnecessary delays
  • Communicate with clients throughout the case process with professionalism, compassion, and clarity
  • Review facts, damages, medical records, treatment status, liability issues, and case value
  • Coordinate with clients, providers, paralegals, and support staff regarding records, bills, treatment updates, missing documentation, and demand readiness
  • Draft and review pre-litigation documents, correspondence, and related case materials
  • Oversee demand package preparation and settlement negotiations
  • Review demand packages for completeness, accuracy, treatment history, damages, liability support, and settlement positioning
  • Conduct EUOs, PIP statements, and recorded statements
  • Work closely with paralegals and support staff to keep cases organized, compliant, and moving efficiently
  • Approve and complete cases transitioning from pre-litigation to litigation
  • Contribute to a collaborative, high-performing legal team focused on strong client outcomes

Requirements

What We're Looking For
  • Juris Doctor from an accredited law school
  • Active member in good standing with the Michigan Bar
  • 2+ years of plaintiff auto / personal injury experience - pre-litigation or litigation backgrounds both welcome
  • Michigan auto experience (first-party and third-party) is highly preferred and will be adequately compensated
  • Ability to manage pre-suit files through records, treatment, demand preparation, negotiation, and resolution
  • Ability to manage a high-volume caseload effectively
  • Confident, proactive, responsive, and results-driven approach
  • Strong client service, communication, follow-through, and attention to detail
  • Strong negotiation, oral advocacy, legal writing, and practical judgment

Benefits

Why You'll Love Working Here

This is a role with real client impact, steady case flow, strong earning potential, and clear opportunities to grow within plaintiff personal injury law.

The firm values attorneys who are motivated, responsive, organized, and committed to excellent client service. You will be part of a welcoming, inclusive, and team-oriented environment where collaboration, professional development, and high performance are supported.

The Law Offices of Joumana Kayrouz has built a respected reputation in Michigan for strong advocacy, client trust, and helping injured individuals and families move forward after serious accidents. For a driven pre-litigation attorney, this is an opportunity to do meaningful work with a firm that has the structure, visibility, and case volume to support long-term career growth.

Compensation & Benefits
  • Base salary for attorneys with 2 to 3 years of pre-litigation experience: $100,000 to $115,000, commensurate with experience
  • Base salary for attorneys with 4 to 5 years of strong plaintiff personal injury or motor vehicle accident pre-litigation experience: $115,000 to $130,000, commensurate with experience
  • Quarterly bonus potential ranging from $75,000 to $110,000 or higher annually, based on performance metrics
  • Signing bonus may be considered for highly qualified candidates
  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage
  • Short-term and long-term disability insurance
  • Life insurance
  • Paid time off and holidays
