Metropolitan Behavioral Health (a UHS Facility)

Metropolitan Behavioral Health is a growing 144-bed behavioral health facility that provides a full continuum of inpatient services across the entire patient population, including specialty programs to serve adolescents, adults and older adults, and perform behavioral health assessments 24-hours a day. Additionally, programs for co-occurring behavioral health and substance use issues are offered to meet the unique needs of this patient population. The facility provides a robust outpatient program utilizing a combination of group, family and individual therapy.

Description: The Intake Clinician obtains initial clinical phone information which is communicated to the physician on call to make a final decision regarding admission. The Clinician may also schedule a clinical evaluation if appropriate for the client and contacts the physician who will make decision for the appropriate level of care: inpatient, day treatment or outpatient care. He/she will facilitate this process by assisting the client, family and referral sources. Clinician also provides information to clients, families and referral sources regarding treatment programs, insurance and admission procedures.

Education and License: 

  • MSW with Michigan LMSW (fully licensed) or Associates in Nursing or BSN with Michigan RN license
  • At least 1 to 3 years of experience providing mental health services, preferably in a psychiatric hospital.

Work Hours:  This full-time night shift position that consists of three (3) 12-hour shifts with rotating weekends and holidays.
