Position Description:
Functions in the Oncology/Infusion Services clinic as the primary coordinator for chemotherapy, infusion, and related hematology/oncology scheduling. Responsible for coordinating treatment appointments, related clinic visits, intake of patients with hematology or oncology diagnoses, referral processing, required medical records, provider orders, authorizations, and patient communication to support safe, timely, efficient, and cost-effective patient care. Provides clinical and clerical support within scope of practice and assists the care team to ensure optimal communication, accurate scheduling, and smooth daily clinic operations.
Qualifications:
1.Certified Medical Assistant credentialed required
2.Experience in a medical office, oncology clinic, infusion center, or related clinical setting preferred.
3.Knowledge of medical terminology and chemotherapy/infusion scheduling workflows preferred.
4.Experience with electronic medical records, scheduling systems, Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and related applications preferred.
5.Demonstrates strong organization, communication, customer service, and detail follow-up skills.
6.Ability to perform clinical support duties within scope of practice and applicable competency requirements.
